If you have a MBNA credit card goto http://www.mbna.co.uk/lifestyle enter the code MBNA and log in. Once entered a new window will open at MBNA rewards, click on the tab The High Street and order your Argos vouchers with 8% off (a saving of £24). There delivered free, and both times I have ordered they arrived by special delivery which I did not choose or pay for.

Waiting on my copy of LBP from The Hut today, trying to stay awake after watching the election all night.

Pretty good deal. Mega Pack is all third part products but nice to be included at that price.

Hope people can be civil in this thread.
#4
The price of this deal should be more like £350 I believe.

From past experience with trying the similar Argos DS deal, the accessory pack is only free when you buy the machine at £299, plus a game at £29 AND a game at £19. So total price comes out at around £350.

Hot - I think I'll wait and get a "free" PS3 mobile phone contract myself, but this is a hot deal for others!

Nice deal.

Can't seem to find the exact deal with a buy button, but can find the description -

Going to nip down Argos with a wad of cash and see what happens.

Isn't this becuase of the new hard drives and prices cuts coming? Nothing wrong with the deal if you must play LBP now though.
#9
Has anyone got this deal ? I think it may be a mistake ?? will they honour it ifit is - personally I doubt it.

Hmm well after some of your comments about the 360 deals etc, I shall hold myself back here other than saying that Little big Planet is overrated and you may be disappointed in the length of the game(3 hour long) and also that behind nice backgrounds it's just an average platformer(very Mario type) so don't judge this bundle by this game alone.

The proof on game length time and gameplay is here BUT WARNING SPOILER if you are buying this game -

FANBOY ALERT! :whistling:

The single player might be short, but its online where it comes into its own. 1000s of user designed levels to play either as a single player or with others.
#12
I stand corrected.....This deal works

I think whatever your opinion of the game, even if you like or dislike, the game is worth about £25-£30 on Fleabay so this is a hot deal...just trade it and buy something that you do like.

The levels provided are meant to be expanded upon with the vast amount of downloadable levels created by us average folk. The games basically a giant editor to make whatever you want, so yes the 'game' you get on disc isnt a 20 hour slog fest because its basically a tutorial but the levels created make the game endless. To name but a few - Gears of War 1 and 2, Bioshock, Unchartered Drakes Fortune - those are all less than 20 hours to complete yet are called classics, people will spend that making 1 level.

Its a compliment people saying 'its like mario' is that not a good thing? Best gaming mascot ever, everyone knows who mario is, its about time Sony had a mascot, as the unoffical mascot ratchet and Clank never has had the same appeal. As for the mario games from 2D to 3D they are all classics (Sunshine on the gamecube Included). Shame other mascots didnt make the transition better from 2D to 3D, IE Sonic.

I believe AP1981 is correct. The £299 is for the PS3 alone. Add the extras and you get them for £50 instead of £90 hence the package is £350 saving you £40!. Possibly still a good deal if you want this package. ;-)

Saw it in Argos shop window myself this morning and the price is £299 not £350

Will this work if I have an Virgin credit card (issued by MBNA) ?
#23
Has anyone tried a non-mbna card on the voucher site to see if it works? I have a normal Amex and I know they have a alliance, so it may work. But I have left it at home so I can't try it yet. :(

Good deal. Brought a PS3 80gb package last week from gamestation for hubbies xmas present. Wish I had waited now :-(

LBP looks amazing but the game itself just looks sooooooooo boring. This is a great deal though as just resell LBP.

can't believe so many people are so excited about a kids game (lbp), the ps3 is so short of decent games that anything new is a must have. seriously though wouldn't the older gamers say 16/18+ be better off with fable 2, gears of war 2 etc? I hear disney are releasing a sing along game for the xbox 360 you ps3 fanboys should love it! I guarantee you will be bored of this game (little big planet) afer 10 mins and then realise you shoulda bought an xbox 360 cos those games are actually fun, just my thoughts...

I sold my ps3 for £200 and am using just the xbox360 now

It's a good deal, you can always trade in LBP. We also have 360, our second one after the first one packed in one month outside of warranty :|. I have to say fable 2 is a waste of time really :whistling:

There was an advert during the Liverpool game last night on ITV1 with this same deal.

Look at my history before you start accusing people and making slandous remarks. I want an apology for that. Idiot.

Apart from mentioning the recent Fifa 09 360 post should be merged with the existing PS3 thread I've not even opened a deal or commented good or bad about anything related to Microsoft or Nintendo.

Dead wrong and you laughably try to use it to spew more pathetic fanboy rubbish.

Indeed... it is easy to mock something that you do not understand or have not tried first-hand.

The advantage of being an adult is that you get to play some very good games aimed at a younger audience, and equally some very good games for the older generations.

"LittleBIGPlanet" will cross age boundaries like no other title before it.

I wasn't "with the program[me]" until I played a beta version, but within the first 20 seconds it became clear that this was a title that was going to change the way that people viewed platform titles for (the better) for the foreseeable future..

Any review should include just three words... "Just play it".

It IS *that* good.

But if you wish to dismiss it without ever trying it you'll never know.

BFN,

fp.

I have to admit that it looks great but not really my game, however every one of the 49 reviews on Play.com and all the professional reviews that I have read rave about it and I HAVEN'T YET played it so it is probably me who is wrong.

I shall play it and then, unlike the muppet ryanreece777, form an opinion.

PS. I hear KillZone 2 is also a kids game ;-)

Me too! My copy came yesterday... I can honestly say this is, without a shadow of doubt, the best game I've ever played, full stop... PLAY IT before you dismiss it for its 'kiddish' looks... The possibilities are endless!

To the numpty (chelsky) who said its 3hrs of play time, where on earth did you pluck that figure from... xbox magazine? 360fanboy.com?... I played for about 5hrs last night and i've hardley scratched the surface... everyone who has ever been interested in gaming in general owe's to themselves to PLAY this game!

Ok ok, settle down kids.

I think you could both do with playing LittleBigPlanet.
