You forgot £5.99 postage :whistling:

* One times £17.99 for the 'Sony Official Dualshock 3 Six Axis Controller (PS3)'
* Initial postage of £5.99
* Total cost of order £23.98

Erm... something is a odd, DVD.co.uk changed into Base.com a while back

So who is this using DVD.co.uk's old website?
#4
Still an excellent price then, shame theres no free postage code - now that would sell out this item quick!
#5
i tried to buy 2 but delivery would still be charged per item,
#6
I got mine today as well and ordered AGES ago......
#7

It's the same company - they've rebranded.

I know, I was just highlighting to the poster before mine that the price on the new base.com website is the same. :)

Anyone know if Gamestation would price match this, thus allowing you to avoid the postage costs? Or if PC World stock this? In that case they would do their price promise
#10
Gamestation and PCworld will not price match this.

The delivery charges are insane, they charge per item.

Edit: Why is everyone voting this cold? £23.98 is the cheapest price for a DualShock 3 Controller

Why not? The delivery charges are not stated on the item page, only when you go through checkout. Surely worth a try of printing out the item page and taking it down. At work at the moment so can't try it, but may do tomorrow.

Heat added by the way. Even thought the delivery costs are silly, it's still the cheapest price for a DS3.
#12
isnt there any free postage if you spend over an x amount? and voted hot even with the high postage cost still the cheapest thanks.

So if the controller was priced at £23.98 with free delivery it would make a difference?

Nope, just tried adding 10 of them equaling £179.99 and still adds £59.90 for delivery.
#14
What a rip-off .............if i order 5 they want to charge £30 delivery ..............STUFF THAT !!! :x

No way would it cost £30 to deliver a small box that size !!!!

What it should say is ...It's £23.98 ...FREE delivery !!! LOL

Not at all, but I've ordered other things from DVD.co.uk, such as large DVD boxsets, for the same price and had free delivery. It's clear this is just a ploy to advertise the controller at £17.99 when the price is in fact higher. Delivery costs should be consistent throughout the site and rather than lowering the price of the product and increasing the price of delivery for cetain products to draw people in. It's just a little misleading that's all.

Also when I ordered my DS3 from this same site months ago, the delivery was £4.99. I don't think Royal Mail have increased postage costs by that much in such a short space of time.
#16
its just to make it more appealing come on if you were buying some stuff from them and saw the controller at £17.99 you would buy it straight away this way they make more money simple marketing. still a good deal as its the cheapest.

PC World will only price match the following websites:

Websites: items sold by Amazon.co.uk*, Argos, Asda, B&Q, Comet, Dabs*, Dell, Evesham Technology*, Game, Gamestation, Halfords, HMV, Jessops, John Lewis, Maplin, Misco*, Play, Staples, Tesco, Toys r Us, Virgin, Woolworths

This is a ok price anyway, but if you could get somewhere that price matched and there was free delivery then that would be hot, hot, HOT.......
#18
Thanks for this, not a bad price at all, but they should do what Play does and build the postage into the price, its only psychological, but makes you feel less ripped off. Heat and rep given

I ordered 2 of these when they were first posted on Hotukdeals back in Feb.
Both have been posted 2 days ago at a combined cost of £45.96 (£22.98 each) so expect these delivered today.

Just been in ASDA for some lunch and they are selling them at £37 each. Most other outlets are around the £35 mark so you cant complain really.

Dont know much about dvd.co.uk but hats off to them as at least they kept their end of the bargain whilst most others would reject the purchase due to incorrect web information.

p.s. I'm sure DVD.co.uk have not changed ownership
#21
i get 6% off at dvd.co.uk, so this is really HOT!

no, it's the same! their invoice holds the name dvd and base

Mine arrived from DVD.co.uk today. I thought postage was mentioned at £4.99 way back when we ordered. Oh well controller here and on charge ready for hubby to do what ever he does with them later
#24
I got mine today as well.

Seriously anyone voted cold is an idiot - so what if postage is high - take the whole price into account when you buy stuff. But if you rather pay £35 with free delivery then by all means do so.
#25
Scorching!
#26
Even at £24 they are a bargian!

Hot deal

They price it this way to keep the price of the item below £18 as a kind of vat fiddle. I'm assuming they ship from somewhere like Jersey so by splitting the cost between the controller and postage they keep the item below the magic £18 figure so they avoid vat so they can make the item cheaper for the customer
#32
I think the VAT rate has now been increased to £28 but I could be wrong, or the VAT rate is different for different goods ?

Are they out of stock now or something? No option to buy apart from at Amazon :(

Yea, no longer at that price. Only £35 at Amazon option. :x

It's also a strange description as the DS3 isn't described as 6axis as well.

If you want more than one than better to buy from bargain crazy using 17.5% code on homepage
http://www.bargaincrazy.com/epages/BargainCrazy.sf/secf0A2o9rFT6g/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BargainCrazy/Products/F04013ZQ/SubProducts/F04013ZQ01D

That's the original sixaxis, not a dualshock 3 pad unfortunately.
