Sony have announced pricing for this pack..

Description as follows:

PlayStation Move is Sony's new motion controller for the PlayStation 3 console. Offering a motion-based, high-definition gaming experience, Move is complemented by a PlayStation Move sub-controller to be used along with the motion controller for intuitive navigation of in-game characters and objects.

The PlayStation Move platform constitutes the motion controller itself, the sub-controller, and a PlayStation Eye camera. The combination of the PS3 system and PlayStation Eye camera detects the precise movement, angle, and absolute position in 3D space of the PlayStation Move motion controller, allowing users to intuitively play the game as if they themselves are within the game.

PlayStation Move motion controller delivers pinpoint accuracy through its advanced motion sensors, including a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a color-changing sphere that is tracked by the PlayStation Eye camera. Through the PlayStation Move system, both fast and subtle motion can be detected whether the user is swinging a tennis racket, or painting with a brush. With the PlayStation Move motion controller, users can provide direct input through action buttons and an analog trigger while receiving physical feedback from rumble functionality and visual feedback from the spheres ability to display a variety of different colors. Furthermore, PlayStation Eye camera can capture the players voice or image, enabling augmented reality experiences.

The PlayStation Move sub-controller is a one-handed controller, developed to further expand the game play options that PlayStation Move games can offer. PlayStation Move sub-controller features a sleek curved design that pairs with the motion controller and comes with an analog stick and directional buttons that allow users to easily control the game when moving characters or choosing a direction.

Like all other Wireless Controllers for the PS3 system, it comes with a built in lithium-ion rechargeable battery as well as Bluetooth technology, enabling the controller to transfer the input information wirelessly to the PS3 system without a cable. The PlayStation Move motion controller and sub-controller broaden the gaming experience on the PS3 system for all genres, from games that use one motion controller to games that use both controllers.

so this is £50 each, does that mean £50 for every player who wants to play at once? If so, 4 of these is the price of a brand new ps3.

You also need to get a navigation (nunchuck) controller for it too, which is another £30

oh and lets not forget the price of a game

you could have a wii, sports, sports resort and motion plus for that!

This price includes the camera too, of which, you only need one. Prices will fall soon enough. The nunchuck (called the 'Navigation Controller) is only required for certain gaming applications (eg. first person shooters).

so this deal is for a device at RRP?

First off complete rip off of the wii 2 part motion controller, fair enough immitation is the greater form of flattery but its just an identical concept with glowing golf ball on the end for more than twice the price !

Secondly as people are starting to work out its going to get very expensive, move wand plus the nunchuck add on for most games (people saying use the normal ps3 pad thats going to be confortable and usable not) You are looking at £70 per player minimum with these sort of prices !

Add in the camera and for 2 players there wont be much change from £140 I imagine even if you get the starter bundle at a good price. For 4 player games which tend to be the most fun on the wifi you could be looking at towards £200 just for the motion controllers + camera before you even buy a game !

Very expensive for in effect a next gen wii controller copy IMO I dont really get were sony are comming from with this, this and Kinect are meant to be taking some of the mass market casual market from the Wii £250 for a ps3 plus £200 for 4 players worth of motion controller kit + cost of games yea that entry level mass market pricing for sure !

I dont think I will bother personally might try kinetc depending on pricing at least MS have tried to innovate and come up with something new with the 3d motorised camera and sound sensors, it would seem they dont have the scale problem either with extra players, we will have to see how well it works with multiple players if at all. Kintec wont retail for more than £99 all in though including the sports game thats for sure probably significantly less even before the new slim and game bundles are taken into consideration.

i dont think sony are aiming at the casual market, the move is going to be applied to core games such as killzone 3 were as kinect imo is trying to steal wii customers aiming at casual gamers when you look at line up

these are still rrp proces yet but £50 initial set up cost isnt to bad tbh, a wii mote and nunchuk is about £35 so pricing to me seems fair as a camera has to be added on top.

a lot of people keep saying microsoft have come up with somthing new, but i dont think they havnt its just an advancement on the ps2 eye toy as the move is to the wii mote.
