Should get quite hot. That is quite a deal.
#2
Is this nationwide
#3
I think these would be part exchanged units and not brand new
#4
Sounds good if available..
#5
actually, i just done a quick google search on this subject. and it is indeed, all over the internet that they will be selling these instore at this price, and that all shops have recently received full stock. and yes its brand new ones

this is going to be a very very hot deal.

Another internet rumour just like the HMV non-deal.....

Why vote an apparent deal hot when there is (currently) no proof?

Seconded.

Put "Slim" in the title

It would seem like a good price but if your not desperate i would hold out. Sony are to release a new 300gb model to try and combat the piracy, Supposedly going to tell all retailers to drop their prices to try and clear out the old stock. Seems like a daft idea if your asking me as people will just buy the cheaper hackable ps3s but if thats what they want to do then fair enough. Just a heads up

and "RUMOUR" :p
#14
Probably the same website that said HMV were doing them for £180
#15
rumor has it sony are preparing a massive price drop next month on ps3 http://stingygamer.com/deals/2011/02/sony-preparing-to-drop-massive-slim-playstation-3-price-drop/

this could be true as hmv and now blockbuster seem to be trying to shift old stock fast , hold off a month or so and see how cheap old stock really gets ;)

I read about the 300GB console too. Another stupid move from Sony in their fight against piracy, because it'll just increase the value of the older consoles, and they'll struggle to shift the 300GB ones; damaging their image even more so. Plus it proves they're struggling to crack down on it using other methods. Will be interesting to see how soon the claimed 'unhackable' console is hacked too, nothing is unhackable.

Getting ever closer to the magical £150 Mark (if true)
#19
So I take it that the HMV posting for the PS3 didn't materialise? Which would account for me not being able to find it yesterday, as I assume it got removed?
#20
Might have to check this one out! I swear this site costs me more money than I save....
#21
I'll pop into my local blockbuster and ask about this if I've got time when I go shopping later, and report back.
#22
Looking at getting a Blu Ray player. Would it be worth getting one of these instead if avaliable at ths price?

Yes, does everything most blu ray players can do plus more, even if you are not into games you can use it for media streaming browsing the internet and many other things.
#24
wish we had a a blockbuster in good old NI :(

Just found this, Stingygamer reported about the HMV deal, and now strangely I've just done a search on google and found they've also been reporting on the Blockbuster deal:

But if you get a dedicated blu ray player you might get better sound output options.

So, this is at 255 degrees, but no-one actually knows if it is an actual real deal..?
#29
I'll have to wait until bb is open at 11:00am
#30
just spoke to person at blockbuster she, still £239.00
#31
should be expired - waste of time
#32
I thought Sony still made a loss on every PS3 sold, even at the old price and this is the reason the prices have not dropped.

Sounds like a rumour started by Blockbuster staff to me.

D'oh
#34
the fact both the HMV deal and this Blockbuster deal have both come from the same source website would suggest....
#35

#36

I think it would be more of incentive for people to buy the 300gb version if it had the ability to play PS2 games as well and a memory stick slot like the original 60gb version.

I can see both the XBox 360 and PS3 getting a price drop soon anyway, I know that they've had both consoles on offer at Tesco/Amazon/Currys and other places, but can see this being permanent with a price drop of some kind for the PS3...

Was going to comment that I know someone who worked at blockbuster and mentioned this (+ discount they could get).

As others have said - no go on deal. . . gutted TBH.
