Yes i know it's cheaper via the Sony site however a lot of people posting on the Remote & the Dual Shock deal seem suspicious for some reason.

And this is through Amazon direct too.

Spurious? The only thing spurious is your claim that Sony's site is spurious. Talk about ridiculous.:whistling:

I thought sony ran out of stock and were only now taking orders for when they get more stock? in which case you could be wanting for months to get yours if you were only ordering now

with amazon you;d be getting it within a week

No - that's the DS3 controller. The remote is instock at Sony, delivered within 3-5 working days free of charge, and just £12 for the controller.

Cold from me I'm afraid.

OK maybe spurious clearly isn't the right word, but so many people seem hesitant. Doesn't that say something?

Well I was in a Sony centre once where some old folks put a full cash deposit on an HDTV which was weeks late and had no ETA. They were told they couldn't have a refund in store and would have to contact the owner of Sony UK for a personal cheque. :p

Of course they're not Sony Japan, but they *do* operate as Sony UK - just try phoning them and see what they answer. Do you really think every McDonalds restaurant is actually owned & operated by McDonalds? Whilst it's not quite as simple as a franchise model, this IS buying from Sony, using their only official outlets - SonyStyle, sony.co.uk or Sony Stores.

Yes they are.

You really do get some studip and argumentative comments on here, which can only result in people not bothering to list offers they find, due to the childish feedback.
At the end of the day £14 for a Genuine Sony PS3 Remote is a good price irrespective of whether it is £2cheaper at Sonystyle it still deserves a posting and a little bit of respect !!!

If you read 'touchy' from someone posting the facts, then you're looking for something which just isn't there I'm afraid - just irritates me when people post genuinely good deals, and dimwits shoot them down with no rhyme nor reason. I've dealt with SonyStyle several times, all problem free - from buying a Sony Clie PDA back in the day, to PS3 accessories recently. They're 100% legit, and very reliable.

But, if you wish to pay more at Amazon, go ahead (although I'm not sure why you bother with HUKD however)... :whistling:

Look pal i'm only looking at what people are saying, and if it was one or two then ok, but there are quite a few.

I've tried to order a Dual Shock, i would be very happy if it comes, all i was doing was pointing out that some people are not sure about ordering from them.

Please don't think it's personal pal, some people will feel more comfortable ordering off Amazon, and lets be honest, what £2 now a days?
#21
I am voting cold purely based on the fact it is available elsewhere cheaper.

No problem, I see what you're saying and certainly haven't taken anything personally. That said, I still think that HUKD is about saving the £2 here and there, so still stand by the Sony deal in this instance.

And your point is? Both the Dual Shock and the Remote are from Sony Style!!!

I'm simply pointing out that people seem a little hesitant, that's all.

You know I left the obvious out of my post. If I choose not to describe Sony UK as a franchise what makes you assume I don't understand how they work?

No - the question was rhetorical, and I presumed you DID know how franchises work. On that basis, I was making the point that if you accept franchises, why not accept that SonyStyle, Sony.co.uk and Sony Stores, are a third-party official outlet for Sony themselves?
#27
Thankyou for posting Danny!! I just found it suspicious that Sonystyle would charge you £10 and then charge you the remainder at a later date? Never experienced that anywhere else. Its people like Ricaird that put people off posting any deals!! Sorry Ricaird but its true, you're intimidating the potential new posters.... There are people out there with deals who wont post them incase of an onslaught by likes of you.

A few people being hesitant of ordering from Sony really can't justify buying elsewhere for a higher price IMO.

But I see where you are coming from.

Utter BS through and through. I offered a genuine, constructive reason for my cold vote - which is supposed to be a requirement of using the cold vote facility. Yet once more, someone shoots the honest cold voter down for doing so, and claims an 'onslaught'. Get a life.

I'll always do my best to post a constructive reason for any cold votes I make, and hope others do the same, and don't pussyfoot around the place for fear of causing offence, however inadvertant that may be.
