Sony PS3 Slim 160GB Solus £156.80 @Tesco (INSTORE)

Picked this up this morning. It was listed as £196 but I noticed the sign for 20% off all consoles/games etc.

I asked someone working there and they said they would have to check.

They put it through at the till at £156.80 at the electrical desk.

This was at Tesco in Dundee.

Hot Hot Hot

Thanks OP

More like a mistake at a shop than a deal.

Pressed hot anyway

anyone know how long this 20% off all games is for at tescos?
#9
Sounds like a store error - £196 is supposed to be the price with the discount already applied.

Well done for your negotiating skills though OP ;)
#10
Hmm, I personally think this is a mistake the 196 includes the 20% iirc.

I will wait and see, if its confirmed again not only will I be voting hot I will be zooming down to the nearest tesco's!
#11
That was manually reduced at the till. So would only be available at that price if everyone got the store to manually reduce it down. I doubt every store will do that. Voted cold on the basis it's not an official deal, just a one off transaction.

wow, nice one!....

....does sound like a bit of luck and a one off though, I wonder if anyone else will get this price?....

anyway, well done!
#13
Very nice, I just paid £215 for this + GT5 from a dude on eBay (brand new sealed). This is a cracking deal though.
#14
this aint a deal. but well done op, for getting a bargain

but u should expire this

Too bad its a PS3!
#16
Yeah, I may have been lucky. But I did look at the games and they did not have the 20% automatically applied, so I thought it was the same for the Consoles too.

Nice.... pointless comment with no explanation... contributing 0 to the thread.

However, super hot deal OP! Well done... Makes me wonder if maybe a trip to my local tescos is in order tonight to try and get this deal..... I would happily go a roundtrip to quite a few tescos for this actually.

Isn't that the same as the Black OPs offer? The 20% was already off at £31 and we then got an additional 20% off?
#19
This is confusing. My local Tesco has the consoles priced with discount but no where on the label does it say its a sale price. Its would be very easy for someone to see the Kinect for example at £99 and then see a 20% off banner and assume that this discount applies to the marked price.

Offers should technically be on yellow SEL paper. Unless the store has ran out and printed them onto standard white SEL paper.
#21
I think this means run down to your local Tesco asap and chance it! Thats my plan anwyays...
#22
I saw this in one of my local Tescos last night thinking the 20% would be taken off but it scanned through as £196. I'm tempted to try another Tesco tho.
#23
Why expired?

I believe the description was in yellow. Having said that without having a description of the offer on the label, its still confusing. Tesco cant expect every customer to have an understanding of what their labelling system implies.

I see what you mean but to be fair, it's really something everyone should know. I'm sure I've noticed that offer prices are on yellow paper since I was in primary school!

Why expired?

Lets see ..maybe because it's not a deal and you where the only one to get it at this price?

Well it certainly seemed to confuse the Tesco staff in Dundee :)

needs unexpired... loads of deals have been voted scorching on here dependant on making the most of a poorly marked process or deal and this is the same - it is a hot deal and is worth letting people know about as loads of people on here will want to give it a shot!
#29
got it unexpired, has anyone had any luck in their local?

Hi, this deal is honoured at my local. I've just paid £156.80 at the Balby store in Doncaster. There was one left on the shelves when I left.

It was a doddle at the till, no arguement at all.

Well done! Glad it was not just me! :)

Went instore and the 160gb @ £196, and at tesco direct in store.
The 320gb version shows up on their system at 228 i believe, that includes 20% discount.
Interestingly their system does not show the 160gb version having the 20% off.
The guy said that deal may not have filtered through yet.
#35
I just ordered an xbox 360 250gb for £157 through Tesco direct. Is there any chance of me being able to get one from the store if they honour this and not have the one from direct?
