I had looked around but all the sites I found that were selling sub £18 were charging delivery. I will update my post to include Gameplay as an option for people who don't like dealing with Amazon

I prefer amazon. Ordered, thanks OP :-D

I bought one from Tesco in-store on 28th December and it was £20 there - I just happened to check Amazon later that night and it was £17.99 (or thereabouts) - perhaps it was more expensive earlier in December - but had definitely come down in price by the end of the month.

Are these any good? They look very awkward to use.......
#8
I am more that pleased with mine. Considering how small they are compared to a normal PC keyboard, I found that I can type on it quite easily.
Have a look on the Amazon customer reviews. Gets a 4.5 star rating from 42 customers.

Top deal, son was asking for one of the over xmas but was waiting for a deal.

these ain't great, very fiddly to use plus they ain't back lit so it's very difficult to use in low light conditions.
Good price if you really want one though.

This isn't a fan boy post or anything trying to deliberately provoke, but the 360 messenger pad IS backlit, hence the comparison i presume

Put the light on before you sit down, then ;-)

Or better yet, do as I do and have everything on remote power switches :-D

I always game with the desk lamp on as gaming in the dark is straining your eyes. I do the same for watching movies, too.

they have been this price for at least 6 months when i got one

Play.com is quoting dispatch time of 1-2 weeks. Doesn't sound like it's in stock to me :?.
It is also in stock on Amazon

you can always just use a USB keyboard as an alternative......

whoops forgot that this pad has got those touch buttons which act as a mouse pad.

These are genuinely rubbish... The touch sensitivity keypad mouse concept is the worst thing ever, you wave your finger over the keypad and the mouse cursor goes where it wants.

The build is sturdy, but isn't no where near as good as my 360 one and to top that off the keys are very small, with dark grey writing against a black background which basically means you've got no chance in reading the keys at all if your planning on turning off the lights or playing in low lighting conditions.

The keypad has no back lighting option!!!!!!!

I promise you, you will probably be better off considering a third party one with back lighting.

The main Playstation button, the start and select button are a joke, the way they've made them work.. This keypad is clearly a poorly designed after thought for Sony, unlike the MS one for the 360

I'd give this a 5 out of 10 and the Xbox one a 9 out of 10.

My miss is taking my one back to the shop today for a refund..:whistling:, this was one of my stocking fillers :gift: , bit of a shame really.

The 360 uses back lighting and works a treat, the lights only switch on when you push a key on the keypad & when you finish using it it switches itself of in a matter of seconds. You dont notice and difference in power usage, to normal usage without the pad.

Honestly, this is a real crap design...

I bet once you get it, like me you will want to return it.... I mean come on man, the keys are tiny, no no no i mean like TINY!!! They certainly havent been designed for man hands.

So what you're saying is 360 - 1, PS3 - Nil.......or you could just plug any old USB keyboard into the PS3, hell even a back-lit one if you're being fussy........:whistling:

Nah its not about Xbox 1 - PS3 Nil.. I love my Playstation man its the centre of my media set up, its just after owning the 360 Keypad it really honestly doesn't compare.

Honestly man, if you see them side by side and there options available and compared them for yourself you would know what i mean..

For the moment im back to using my OCZ USB illuminated keyboard...

I used the 360 on the other day, and was suprised at how good they were.

PS3 controllers just arent the right design for this type of thing. The best thing they can do is bring a mini usb keyboard out that plugs directly into the controller.

They do keep lights on ;-)

At least the ones I frequent up here do - obviously I can only speak for the ones I know!

They dim the lights down once everyone is seated but they're far from off completely. People still need to see where their popcorn and drinks are and take their kids to the toilet when they need to pee half way through the film. I expect this is for the benefit of viewers' eyes, too. A light on the TV wall is best IMO, or even better a Philips Ambilight TV
