The nearest collection point is too far, would cost me more than £5 in fuel

Good deal - is there much difference between the 2000 and 3000 models?

The 3000 has a built in Mic so you can use Skype & also a better screen.

3000 has a better screen (I would say it's about 10% better) and a built in microphone for skype will also output game video to a tv, downside is it's harder to hack, I would recommend this deal (2000) for someone new to psp, great console for a cheap price.

Cheers, just ordered one for collection from store.

Our son has been going on about that new Invizimals game, which we can now get hoim to go with this, as its half price at Amazon with the camera.

Great find. Have ordered mine and used some clubcard vouchers I had to bring the price down to just over £70!

Surely the biggest difference is the software, the 2000 a doddle to hack so that you can use backups of your (own only ahem :whistling:) UMD's which were and are an awful idea in the first place hence why the format never took off (fragile and awkward to handle), the 3000 isn't

Tempted to get this for OHs xmas, nice find, thank you

It's kinda hard to think like that, when everyone around you is telling you to grow up and act your age.

How do you know what motherboard this has in it? This 2000 may be as difficult to hack as the 3000.

I would guess that's because you haven't come across the later 2000 series.

It's sold out when you go though to checkout. Gives an error and removes it from your basket.

PSP2003
system software 4.01

I have no idea why my deal was expired as they are still on sale on Tesco.com
#29
Yup, showing out of stock on Tesco.com. Do check your local big Tescos, picked up our second one at 21:58.
#30
Phew, a friend had one reserved but no longer wants it so its mine! :D

Collecting on Thursday.

BTW, doesn't the PSP 2000 have a better screen than the PSP 3000 which has interlace issues even though it has better colour reproduction?

EDIT: Yep it does:

is this worth the money - and how easy is it to hack it?
#32
is the 2000 the same as the 2003???? wot are the differences........ im confused
#33
Managed to get in on this offer and one has been dispatched. Any idea if these are likely to hack? I see OP posted that f/w seems to be 4.01. A bit of looking around seems to indicate they won't hack but would love to know for sure.

If the letter on the side of the Box is "G" or higher then it can not be hacked.

Maybe, I'll bow down to your knowledge on the matter as you clearly know your stuff

You can't permanently hack the 2000/3000 PSPs that have the newer motherboards but you can run custom firmware enablers which continue to run until you switch off the PSP and then have to re-enable the hack.

Got mine today!

What was the firmware version that came on your PSP from new?

Mine was 3.71. If its 4.01 or over then most likely it can't be permanently modded but you can use Custom Firmware Enabler on it to get it to run homebrew until its switched off and then run the hack again.
