can you mod this one to play copy games from memory card?
#8
This looks a better deal than the £89 one, nicer finish and much better game,if only the final fantasy one was this price

No. For that you need a PSP 1000 or earlier PSP 2000 model.

As I discussed yesterday ("Sony PSP 3000 White Petz Fixed Pack £89.99 @ Game" / Comments #35 to #41):

Given that the release date of the "Petz" PSP bundle was 3 July 2009, & Sony's Official System Software Update 5.03 was available from 20 January 2009, with version 5.51 available from 11 June 2009, I would guess that you are not going to be lucky.

The "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" title & the associated PSP bundled was released in the UK (& most of Europe) on 26 June 2009. Again, you may be lucky, but perhaps not.

If you buy a PSP 3000 series model to play commercially available retail software on Universal Media Discs instead of so-called (and, incorrectly named) "homebrew" software from memory cards you will not be reducing the revenue of the video gaming industry even more than they are experiencing of late.

If nobody pays for the software for their consoles eventually no organisation will be able to afford to publish any video games & no software development companies will be able to afford to make any.

Consumers moan at the lack of support the PlayStation Portable consoles have had from the major software companies but continue to download games from the various World Wide Web sites hosting them illegally instead of buying the retail products instead.

If you value playing video games on consoles, handheld, or otherwise, I suggest you consider this approach too.

BFN,

fp.

Does your game say "Not to be sold separately"?

Nope, It looks like it is the normal packaging with PSP branded plastic wrapping. The only difference to GAME's standalone box shot is the rating is BBFC PG instead of PEGI 12.

I've just received this and I've never used one of these before. Everytime I turn it on it says that I have software version 5.02 and that I must update to 5.03 or later. And it isn't letting me start the game.
Is this right do I have to update or is there a way to bypass the update?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I can't seem to do anything with this now!

If you can see the PSP's interface, you should be at the Game menu, push the down button from there and there will be a PSP Update option.
This installs the firmware version that shipped with that Game's UMD, which should be 5.03 by the sounds of it.
