You're getting the game for an extra tenner. I'm thinking of getting a PSP for the PlayTV features more than anything. I'd rather to have it on its own.

Seems although the screen is more colourful than the 2000 series it has other more serious problems that the 2000 series didn't suffer from.

Lots about this on Youtube too for comparison. :x

People need to IVTC their videos properly and deinterlace if required when converting them.

Maybe people will learn how to encode properly now, rather than just using junk 1click apps.

The increased quality more than makes up for the problems a few people who don't know how to encode are having.

Still VERY expensive considering the 360 is £109 -

how is this in the slightest bit relevant?! :?

I'd like to see you carry a 360 around and watch movies / play games etc. whilst on the move .... :whistling:

ok you dont have to be horrible about it

Hope if Sony ever make a truly new handheld that they put a second thumb stick as the lack of one really hurt the PSP for first person shooters.

Increased res on this updated version should be cool for those wanting a light media player.

It's that type of no nonsense approach to your trolling that may finally make you grow up.

i think tbh the psp isnt really meant to be a platform for fps - it was more racing and sports - be incredibly cramped with 2 analogues on there

Got nothing to do with people encoding their own video - it's the screen generally, even happens on the XMB menu when flicking through options etc.

I use the PSP with PlayTV.

I would highly reccomend it.

Means I can watch TV in bed without waking up my lady friend...

Can also use it to set recordings from anywhere in the house/out of the house. Not the most exciting feature but I find it very useful when in the bedroom watching TV and see something advertised that I would like to watch but know I won't be in to see. Probably lazy or something but hey...

I have the GPS for the PSP as well as I work from my car and do about 500 miles a week. The PSP is pretty great for entertainment when out and about in the car also.

Totally agree man.

I will not upgrade my PSP until they put another thumb stick on the right.

As long as all the new gadgets that they come out with continue to work with my slimmy.

Doubt that very much though.

If the PSP could get DivX/XviD support then it would be WAY better also.

This interlacing issue is a crock. I've had mine since Wednesday - haven't noticed a problem, and it looks nothing like that janky youtube video.

Aye 'cause the best game on the PSP is that well known racing/sports game "God of War: Chains of Olympus".

Do you actually own a PSP?

I think there is some relevance, I'm sure I read somewhere about % of PSP use that is actually in the home.

I'm looking at getting one cause my wife monopolises the TV and i'm bored of pointless surfing the web while she's watching celebrity **** factor soapstar eammerdale on ice in casualty.
Now my dilema is PSP2000 or 3000, all depends on what kind of deal can be done on the 2000.

this is available online at gamestation, with an extra game for £149.99 (fifa 09 or batman pack)

Funny comment there Monkey11477 about the wife monopolising the tv with her fav programs!!
At this stage, PSP 2000 is the better console - you can ahem 'modify' ahem it to extend its functionality. Just google for it and your good to go. Don't think PSP 3000 has got that far yet.
The PSP is an awesome machine - the kids use it to watch cbeebies programs, the wife plays ps1 games on it and I keep it updated and charged for them ;-)

I've read that about the previous PSP SKUs, that's the other thing besides a good deal that i'm waiting for confirmation of, I heard there's a lot of good home brew stuff around

Ive heard that in later firmware updates Sony will let you use PS3 controller(2 thumb sticks)to control some games,Resistance for PSP is confirmed to be the first one.
