I paid this yesterday for a pre-owned one. They were £225+ everywhere new.

Yes, but it's not an Xbox!! If someone wants one of these, then it's a good price!

Another Sony epic fail, for as much reason as there is to like Sony there is as much again to dislike.
#4
Why the cold votes. This IS a good price compared to everywhere else!!

Wouldnt be suprised to see these drop further in price (they've actually been cheaper than this a few times already), Sony have already admitted it was a failure.
#6
did i not see one of these on hoyukdeals 2 days ago for 170 with 10days?

Yes, apparently it was a 'test' to see if the public were interested in buying download only consoles. Nice of them to tell us after they have been charging £200 a pop for them

£5 more @ Shopto, with a £20 PSN card included, but 'on order from suppliers' at the moment.

You will get 10 free downloadable games with any newly purchased PSPGo at the moment

Quote from that link:

We were getting signals from consumers that this was the kind of device that they wanted.

I'd REALLY like to know what these alleged 'signals' were? :p

Sounds to me like the typical sore losers excuse. Oh, I meant to lose on purpose!

You can play novelty games on it, and you can download apps, the touch tries to play all cards and doesn't triumph, it's not the best games machine, and it certainly isn't the best sounding media player.

I think Sony had a point, millions of people do prefer to download there games for the PSP, what they didnt understand was the fact that these same people didnt want to pay for them! :whistling:

And those willing to pay for them weren't prepared to pay PSN's rip off prices, especially with no resale value.

More people would be willing to pay for them if their digital downloads werent more expensive than having a physical product. There is a huge cost saving when they dont have to make (umd), package and ship games, so to charge more for them, it was bound to fail.

People do want this kind of system, but Sony just didnt understand and failed to deliver what consumers wanted - sadly this will always be the case though, as game stores will not agree to sell consoles if the manufacturer is just going to cut them out of the loop on what they make money on (games) - thats the main reason why games are so expensive to download - that and greed....mainly greed.

People definitely do like this kind of platform and the iPhone has proven that, however the Apple model works because most of the games cost under £1. PSP Go doesn't work because the games are full price and it's a platform aimed primarily at kids who understandably will not generally have access to their parent's credit card information.

Saying that, if the PSP Go got cracked then I would be all over this because you would basically have the equivalent of a real-gaming ipod then.
