er good price BUT Id rather pay more and get it from a more reputable seller - PLAY customer service sucks!

Have some heat

hot although £174.99 for me :)

plus about £8 reward card points:)

Great deal......but seriously I don't see the logic in the pricing for this. Spend a little extra and you get a PS3. Surely Sony could put it around £100 range, considering that at least 30% of people using PSPs just download the games!

If you've already got a ps3 this is a great addition - stream movies and stuff from your ps3 to it wherever you are in the world as long as you have an internet connection

boo to this product a total rip off insted buy normal psp with large memory card for way cheaper or the best choice buy ps3 you wont regret it

Sony have missed the price point completely on this one, £99 is the sweet spot (especially with the extra projected revenues from no piracy and no 2nd hand game sales)

i have to agree with you, £99 would pit it against the DS/I too!

So people are happy to spend more than this price for a phone, but not for a perfect handheld console?

The DSi is £150 ish and this is £50 more. Doesn't seem such bad value when you think of it like that. Yes a PS3 is £250 ish but most people will already have a main stream games console just like many people who have wiis have a ds.
#11
but only one source from where you can get the games is what puts me off! That means they could charge whatever they wanted no running to shopto.com or play.com for bargain games.

PS3 isn't really that great for portable gaming

And the Ds is about £70ish now. More importantly the old PsP can be had for around that too. So you are playing £130 for the privilige of not having a game slot :? (Although its prolly higher spec'd in other areas).

Ah yes, because the Xbox 360 Go is super duper :whistling:
#16
It's too expensive. I would like to see a price point of about £149.99.
#17
We'd all like to see things cheaper but its a new item, that means it will be a premium price. Its always been that way. :)

Where exactly as I would like one at that price!

The PSP Go certainly isn't!

Play customer service is great, they obviously just don't like you because you suck.

Also how can any plonker suggest this should be £100? Get real. The DSi was £150 and this is superior technology, use your f***ing head!

How do you know a PSP Go is worse than yours if you don't have one or never used it

Smaller screen, cant change the battery, Cant play UMDs, forced into buying game from Company.

Seems pretty conclusive to me

But it has better features, such as Bluetooth etc
Why would you want to change the battery?
And the digital rather than UMD feature is only to stop piracy. if you was Sony you would do the same
#24
Ok, if they made it £199 with £50 rebate voucher for trading in your old one then fine. Maybe.
banned#25
I'll be sticking with my old PSP. PSN isn't exactly cheap when it comes to games, and without being able to sell a game on it'll be even worse value. I think Sony have seen how much the sheep have downloaded from the Apple store and thought they could do the same.

I have used one. Can't say how though ;-) Not risking anyone getting into trouble for the sake of a dumb argument on the internet :p

It's not a bad little machine really. Is it worth twice the price of the one I've got though?
Is Bluetooth and increased internal storage worth £100? And that's before considering the features they've taken away.

Yeah of course I would. Not blaming Sony for doing this at all. From Sony's point of view this is a good move, but that doesn't make it a better console for the consumer.

a more reputable seller???
play is one of the best online merchants.... ive bought several items from them and never had a problem
#28
Why would you want to change the battery ??? are you serious ?, over time battery life degrades and its always good to change to a fresh one that will fully charge, or are we just suipposed to keep this 12 months then throw it away and buy a new one. As for 'better' features like bluetooth, im not sure how bluetooth makes a gaming device better but a smaller screen sure as hell doesnt

Just because the DSi is hideously overpriced doesn't mean that the PSP Go isn't.
They're both as bad as each other.

If a bunch of hobbyists can club together and make and sell the Pandora which is twice as powerful as the PSP, bigger touchscreen than the DS, and more features thrown in than both of them put together for £200, without the possibility of making any money on software whatsoever, it just goes to show how much Sony and Nintendo with their manufacturing might are milking it with their new handhelds.

Well yeah, you'll be buying a new handheld soon enough anyway. I wouldn't say 12 months though, 2 years is nearer the mark. The real reason for making the Go and the DSi is to get a foot in the door of online distribution, so they can get the infrastructure in place and iron out any teething issues ready for the next generation. I don't think they're expecting these guinea-pig models to be a huge success, they're playing the long game.

Good deal voted hot. Remember in order to get Grand Turismo free you DO NOT REGISTER your PSPGo. You simply create or sign into a PSN account. There will be a Grand Turismo theme for free download it. You will then get a e-mail from Sony with a code to download GT. Current PSP owners will not be able to download the free theme and will not be able to get GT for free. Also remember you have to download the free theme before October 10th 2009 to get GT for free.

There is also rumours about the good will program. Sony will allow you to download 5 of your current UMD games for free. Others you will have to pay a fee.
#32
A reduced fee or full price?
