Voted cold.
There's been several deals posted using this voucher and comments in all of them state there's been problems with the company not honouring the deal.

Edit to add:

goonertillidie
they select certain people to mail and award them the £50 voucher which is on their system and gives them discount other people are using it. then they send a letter days, weeks, or even months down the line stating u were not allowed to use the voucher and claim the £50 back .Same as littlewoods. thats why people are voting cold

Voted hot, ignore the tiresome moaners about codes. :)

Use it over the phone, and ask for e-mail confirmation if you are unsure.

Catalogue deals using email codes should be outlawed on here, as there is no guarantee it wil be honored.
Cold for that reason.

If someone posts one of these deals it would be nice if they warned us we'll have a battle on our hands to get the stated deal, and they gave instructions on how to minimise the risk.

The OP had neither, hence "the moaning"

come one ,every member of HUKDs knows about Empirestores dodgy codes .they have a history of not Honouring codes but how many of u has been busted after using a code ???.. i have been using codes over the last year for several purchases and i ve never had problem .. pay with ur Debit card and they can not take the money without ur permission . and remember ,this code works over the fone only .. it s not a computer and u can always ask them if they would honor the code .... so ... DO YOU WANT ONE OR NOT ?

If you don't see the problem with the deal then good luck. 'Catalogue' + third party code = problems

Also voted hot - people seem to want everything handed on a plate, it's getting to be so hard to get heat on deals these days on here I fear people won't bother. HDUK will become just a forum of lurkers, cursors poised over the minus...

I rang up myself the other day and asked if I qualified for this promotion and gave my details.
It was confirmed and I will be shopping tonight.

How can a £50 confimed discount be voted cold, regardless of past problems?

That was then, this is now.

Gave it a go.

If they charge me the full price, then I'll return it for a refund.

My £80 PSP arrived today, so well happy (checked Visa statement and was credited £50).

Cheers :)
