Tesco do this. They take stuff that is out of stock and put a silly price up on the shelf (expensive choc bars and suchlike, usually) knowing that it will attract attention but sell nothing.
I'm betting that this was never available at that price.

I worked at Tesco, and whenever a silly price was put on anything the staff would know long before the customers. Those GIANT toblerones that were like 3ft long were reduced to 10 quid from like 50 and the staff bought nearly all of them before the labels were even put on the shelf. So it was available at that price, but the staff got there first.

Thanks, cos of this post I just got a Zen Vision (White) for £54.99 delivered with 799 points on my card, I was just browsing the site when I saw the above player in stock, I could'nt beleive my luck

It reminds me when i worked at sainsbury's and we done a 95% off sale on bottles of wine and spirits, a person in stock control told someone one else and within 10 minutes all the staff got all the expensive bottles of port and spirits for like a fiver me included got myself 2 bottles of port wine cost was 55 payed only a 5 but then used 15% staff discount card eheh it was so cheap that other at the till that had not heard of it were like wtf and clients behind staff saw those prices and were wondering how they could get it. by the time stock control put the label up they were only left with beer from split packs eheh

This is a con. Last night the black PSP wasn't even on their website, and the white one was £139.99.
All of a sudden a black one appears at £44.99 - but they are sold out.
Lots of websites like this one get really excited about it.
End result - Boots gets LOADS more traffic.
It's a fantastic way of generating visitors to your site, but the special deal is not and never was going to be available. If you are lucky they will have had 2 or 3 systems at this price, and the same goes for the Zen Vision M.

I've just had a look at the zen vision, which appears to be in stock, however if you click on the full description it says sold out. Very confusing.

it is bad they do this, but if people can get a wii via various methods for £130, im pretty sure the same method can be used to get a PSP for around £50. i myself got a used PSP with 2 chargers, game, case, powerstation and 1gb card, and it only cost me £30 ish really.

how did you get it for £30ish

i phoned boots apparently someone leaked this and he bought a batch of them old stock
