Far better. SD card slot, micro-USB, flash-enabled, built-in IR remote, DLNA, PlayStation compatible, ICS update on the way, and, best of all - no frickin iTunes!!!

I had an HTC Flyer running Honeycomb and compared to my mates iPad it was awful. I sold it in the end, nothing can compare to the quality experience available on an iPad. If I were you I'd pay an extra £30 and get an iPad. Seriously, if you buy an Android tablet you will regret it. I felt sick with regret after I bought mine, I hate that feeling.

You sir are the definition of a fanboy & should just go join the inevitable long queue outside your nearest apple store now, out of harms way.

For crying out loud. Why don't people just go out and buy what they want rather than feed other people with your disdain for something you don't like and in a lot of cases have never used. There's something out there for everyone, which is great as it means we can pick and choose what we like. The same comments keep appearing in so many posts, forget isheep how about trollsheep. Get a life

I'm a Mac user for the last 10 years or so and although its a more stable platform its far from perfect. MS Office still crashes a lot! They just can't get it right with iTunes and thats just using it as a music player.

I prefer Blackberry over iPhone, I find it more suitable to my needs and suits my budget

I recently got a HTC Flyer and again it suits my needs, for size, budget and function.

I find all the media coverage of the iPad 3 launch really depressing, its like the birth of a messiah or something! The press ceases to be independent when Apple launches any 'i' product.

Yes it has a better screen but some of us dont want to buy in Apple's restrictive ecosystem and the old 'its Apple's way or the highway' approach.

If you are in the market for a tablet, do yourself a favour, spend a few minutes playing with each tablet available in a shop and see which one you like rather than troll on an internet forum and crticise other people's preferences.

Why on earth would anyone besides techies want this? No iTunes, so you have to manage all your own data which is beyond all but the most technical, poor defective wifi, no iOS, no AirPlay, not allowed in a work environment due to poor security, fragmented OS support and rubbish app selection are par for the course. No wonder they aren't selling at all well. I'm sure it's great if you like to tinker with and customise rather than use it for its intended purpose (I.e students), but I don't have the time for that

I didn't mean to like this comment, but please, anyone reading it, please, please, please don't take the comment too seriously. This is a prime example of the old man screaming at his remote because it won't let him phone Betty for some reason.

Looking for a decent tab and something like this would do. Am not a fanboy of android, just a hater of Apple. iTunes is like a virus the way it forces you to do what it wants. Very sorry but I will NEVER use or own anything Apple. Oh and I have HAD to use them plenty as my other half has a macbook air, iphone 4S and iPad 2. Horrible, stupid and so restrictive. Everytime they crash or cock-up it's me that gets lumbered trying to fix them for her. Love my Sony Android phone and never had any trouble with it. This tab with DNLA would be ideal for me as I have quite a lot of movies and music on my home server that to watch/listen to with the PS3.

I upgraded the memory on the Archos by 32Mb for £15. Try upgrading your iPad memory. Oh you can't, you need to buy another one with more memory. As for crappy apps. Your talking out yer bottom. 98% of apps on the Market and Apple Store are crap. The good stuff worth having is available on both platforms. WGrow up and stop being a silly fanboy. There's a big world out there beyond apple.

My Brother recently got one of these, it is nice but the Wifi is a real issue, it drops off at the drop of a hat, it causes real issues, it seems it is a known problem, but Sony have yet to fix it, even sitting 3 feet from the router still only gets you 2 bars

Just out of curiosity, why do you specifically go for RoBad as being a fanboy? His preference is to Apple, because he prefers Apple.

The comment he was commenting on, by No8 was just as much against the iPad and for Android, as RoBad was against Android and for Apple, yet you specifically targeted your comment at RoBad?

Does that make you "the definition of an" Apple hater or "the definition of" an Android fanboy? (_;)

Each to their own, both have advantages over each other and I personally like and own both Apple and Android.

Lol since when has it become so unacceptable to be a fan of something? … Lol since when has it become so unacceptable to be a fan of something? Dare say you own more than one Apple product and be called a fan boy, quite ridiculous. There is the argument that they are top of the tablet league as they are worthy to be there. It is inevitable that if a deal appears for a tablet that the iPad will be out for comparison, and why not? I also don’t get the marketing and sheep comments that are beat about as they are also quite ridiculous, I see little in the way of iPad advertising, well probably a lot more now that the release for the new one is here. Amazingly they get a huge amount of free advertising from haters world wide, it is strange to say the least.

It's horses for courses - the isheep are ones who buy an ipad but have'nt looked at an Android tablet.....and so are making a choice based on what's cool without any real thought and then try to advise other people on what to buy....

I'd take an Android device over an IOS device any day of the week.

Now jailbreak said IOS device and it'll blow any android out of the water. It's just as customisable as an android but with a far superior interface

Probably not, as dongle drivers are written for Windows or OSX. Best bet would be to treat yourself to a payg Mifi, stick your sim in and connect using wifi.

Android is very open and for me fIash was a big plus point. I enjoy playing around with it and making various modifications etc. There are also many decent .chm readers around on marketplace which I especially need (and something that is lacking on apple's app store). However, it is a frustrating device to use. The browser crashes often, the calendar fails to sync, the email crashes, flash is buggy. Email accounts and calendars take too long to set up and I can't sync my Outlook account despite many efforts...and things refuse to work far too often and then there's the horrible lag.I also have the benefit of having access to an iPad 2 and I can honestly say that it beats the droid tab in terms of ease of use and trouble-free operation. The browser IMO is quicker and much more intuitive to use than the Samsung Tab. I suggest buyers to carefully think about whether they really need the extra openness of the android or the usability of the iPad before making up your decision. Certainly, I've ordered the new iPad as it meets my needs better and will be getting rid of the Galaxy soon.

I am after a samsung 7" tab plus and your comments are a bit worrying. Different browsers can be insatlled though under Android.

However I have a 10" Asus transformer - and I don't believe the browser has ever crashed... a few apps yes but not the browser - I think the screen is pretty good as well. Many non-tablet apps work just fine on it.

So I think there is quite a bit of variability between Android tablets. For me being able to store videos etc on an SD card and transfer files to the tablet without needing wi-fi or a PC is also very useful...

ICS i.e Android 4.0 should also bring speed & smoothness benefits...
