Yes.
#5
awesome find ....keep diggin
#6
It needs a power cable plugged into the wall.. so you wont be walking very far with it!
#7
Looks a great product especially with 30 watts of power.... HOT.
I'll wait for some reviews before i buy them.
#8
Great find!

Any idea if these would work with a 32lg7000 tv or more importantly if the sound would be improved at all?
#9
Fantastic. These could be just the thing for my Bluetooth laptop. :-D
#10
When Sony release an update so the PS3 can play game sound via bluetooth, I'll then buy their speakers
#11
Is it the same with play as it is with Shopto pre-orders? if the price goes up you pay the price it goes up to?? i m sure thats what i read on shopto
#12
Does anyone have a link to a Bluetooth wireless ipod adaptor?

Otherwise, the specs for the speaker look good. Hot.
#13
Iphone 3g compatible? Probably not - nothing seems to play ball with them.

not sure, but if this wants/needs stereo bluetooth (a2dp) like the acoustic energy bluetooth product (like this) then you wil lhave problems as i looked into this and its not supported well.
#17
Good price.
#18
Judging by the reviews on amazon the speaker is ok - I would only use my phone with it tho and this is probably where you lose the sound quality compared to say an ipod

Sorry to sound dumb but would that mean you cannot hook these up with the ps3 for gaming..:whistling:

Any idea if this would work with a Macbook? Its bluetooth compatible but want to make sure before I purchase it
#22

Thanks. I didn't realise they were so expensive though.

Thus speaker + adaptor = £80

I just wonder whether its better to get one of these and hook it up to the hifi instead:

Hmmm. Sounds interesting - I got an iPod touch for Xmas, that would be off the chain man.

Great post OP, ordered with 5% off RAC code and Quidco so should be sub £35 after that.

I'd rep you if you hadn't infracted me (unfairly) a while ago edi :p

That price is just nuts! I got a pair of Sony DR-BT22 Bluetooth headphones for around £18 from Play a while back and they included the iPod Bluetooth adaptor.

The SRS-BT100 speakers look a fair deal. Voted hot. :)

Lol interesting question Russ! This link assumes it would work: www.hdtvlounge.net/lg/7000/ and if so, I guess these speakers can't be any worse than the awful invisible speakers that TV has. I tried connecting a pair of powered speakers via twin rca phono jacks, only to find this TV doesn't have regular audio out, only optical out :?....so im kinda stuck.
#28
would this work with my nokia 5800?
#29

Your local Wallmart/Asda might have some of the Sony BT22 dongle+headphones combo in stock for £20 if you are lucky. The branch at Walmley had plenty last time I looked around Xmas and they did not seem to be flying off the shelves. Just bear in mind that the latest iPod Touch and iPhone have had the pin arrangement in their charging sockets changed around slightly so may not work with this.

It's compatible with anything if you connect by cable.

I doubt it'll be compatible with everything via bluetooth though.

I have a small set of bluetooth speakers and they don't work with my mates iPhone.

The set I have require the paired device to be A2DP capable. My Sony W950i (and, although I haven't tried it yet, I believe also my Nokia 5800) works fine with it. I can get the PC to work with them as well, but as the PC is XP, it's a PITA. XP doesn't support A2DP natively, Vista does. No idea about macs.

Are these actually available yet? The spec on the Play site is pretty thin. I'd want to see details of the bluetooth profile it uses to stream before I rushed out and bought one of these.

A bit more technical information on the Sony UK homepage:

Yup.

From what I can see, you need an A2DP compliant device to stream music to it via bluetooth.

The Argos page mentions a dongle to connect all iPods .... that means a hardware connection/cradle. The iPhone is not A2DP enabled so I think if you're gonna use this with an iPhone, you're going to be doing it via a dock/wire .... not wirelessly.

Serves people right for having a device which is purposefully designed to only be compatible with other Apple Software / products :p
#36
I'd like to buy these speakers, but would need to by a usb bluetooth adapter for my laptop that has A2DP, but can't find any on the internet - can anyone help?

I think argos are selling it with an iphone blutooth dongle hence the £117 price. I'm sure if you look in the catalogue you will see it pictured with an iphone blutooth dongle connected allowing you to wirelessly connect. It is probably a much different package to this play deal and hence has the iphone compatibility listed.

Just got home with one of these from Argos (Bromley), a "Managers Special" (5 in stock) for £76.42 supplied iPod transmitter (TMR-BT8iP). Excited but soon disappointed! Sound quality is boxy, ill-defined and muddy. In direct comparison with my Sony CPF-NW001, yet smaller (and prettier), it's clear straight away that the BT100 sound is by far inferior. Perhaps more fair if I take the price into account: £76 less £30 for transmitter = £46 for dock, hmmm maybe not so bad ... but I've heard better sounding docking stations for less and you can't control the volume remotely either.

One consolation, just tested with iPhone and it does work.
