Great portable speaker that has recently dropped by a further £10 at Currys. Combined with the Amex statement credit offer which lasts until 31 December, brings this down to a very reasonable £59.99. Quidco 1% cashback also possible.

It has a bigger brother - X5 - which is £100, but that is a heavy thing that is far less portable.

Saw this for the same price in Tesco. Read some reviews that stated that this speaker doesn't play when it is being charged and that when it starts to lose power the sound volume decreases.
I'm looking for a speaker to replace my Solemate, can anyone find the sound power of this compared to the Solemate ?

I don't own one yet, but I'm struggling to believe the 1st part of that because I messed around with one in the Sony store the other day which was plugged in to the mains! It's older brother received came out top in a review I read recently (http://www.trustedreviews.com/best-portable-speakers_round-up_Page-10).

SRS X3 output power = two 10W speakers
Jabra solemate power = one 9W speaker?

Power rating isn't everything though, I can't see db info for the Sony.

you are confusing the useless x3 with its big brother the x5 and that's the one in your link.
the x3 was reviewed in the test but came very much lower possibly 10/10 and that doesn't begin to describe the dire sound with no bass at all

I'd have to disagree, the one I got sounds pretty damn good for its size! Not sure what you were expecting, it is a small portable speaker so it is never going to hammer out bass :)
