#3
i dont know y cold...
#4
im hoping they're gonna go back down to 200 Quid so i can buy 2. still £250 seems to be a reasonable price based on its features and reviews.
#6
managed to get one on the play £199.95 deal... great amp... even worth £249.95...
#7
I need the slimmest amp anyone know which is the slimmest need one in the bedroom but do not wish to have space taken up need speaker setup for surround sound not sure what to get
#8
Unknown brand as far as amplifiers are concerned.
Voted cold. Would go for the better known Yamaha V667 at £295 :) or Onkyo instead.
#9
Cold from some because it was 200quid a bit back on amazon and play. Still decent price at the mo tho :)

BTW I have one and it's class for the money

Most AV amps are this size unless you start spending serious dosh on something like the old Cyrus amps (which they no longer make) http://www.cyrusaudio.com/product-archive/av-systems

Tempted, but know it's previously been under £200 is putting me off.

Had exactly the same requirements...slimmest Amp would be the Marantz NR1601 or the older NR1501 (no Zone2 & not 3D Ready).

Hey, the Onkyo joke is potentially great, but all these poor deliveries are killing it.

I'm pretty sure one of the Marantz NR series is close to this price and that's a slim receiver.

How can it be cold because it was cheaper in 2003?

Can it be bought at that price now?

Some real idiots on here, man.

It can be cold because it's not a hot deal.

Not 2003, about 2 weeks ago mate! Discontinued model anyway.

It should only be deployed from now on in exceptional circumstances, where the chances of mirth are high. It's a dangerous tool gents, let's use it wisely.

It'd be great if someone killed it off permanently.

Yeh doesn't do HDMI 1.4 which is why it's being dropped.

I think it still supports 1.3b so would still do 3D - just no ethernet or return audio support :) Was 500+ not so long ago...

I should probably ask this on AVforums but.... How does this compare to Sony STR-DH810?
#22
This was £200 for ages at Play.com, then went up to £230 but now hiked to £300
http://www.avforums.com/forums/home-cinema-bargains-discount-codes/1343161-sony-str-da2400es-199-play.html
I dont think I would be rushing to pay £250
#23
hot because of the pre outs, use this as a processor and hook it up to some serious amplification.

The Cambridge Audio 540R is probably one of the slimmest. I've got one and have no complaints. Look at the 340R if you need HDMI

So any deal that is currently the cheapest available but has previously been on sale at a lower price but is no longer available is cold?

Load of rubbish and I suspect you all know that.

No one is saying that, but it's 25% more expensive now than it was week or two back.
Vote how you want, it should make no difference to your purchase.

Its a lot better as its got a stiffened chassis to reduce resonance. I was going to get this but I found out it didn't have HDMI pass though.
#28
This receiver gets posted every week, and each week it gets more expensive.

Really can't see how this can get hot...

Happy with my Yamaha now but this was on my shortlist for a while... Heat added
#31
Seriously - are people really getting a kick still out of this Onkyo rubbish on Sony amps?

Some people must live dull lives...

Was £149.99 at Richer Sounds

So this model does not have hdmi pass through, yet the 810 does...is that correct??
#34
Anyone know if the STRDA3500ES is worth the extra £100 (@ RS)?

I was beginning to think people were in danger of flogging a dead horse, but you've proved that there's mileage left in that joke still. What a gem!

I think the use of language as a tool to enhance the original joke is what made it.
