Whats that post?

what I hate about richersounds is the fact that stock on these great products is often very, very low

Perhaps you should get one of these for when the Onkyo spontaneously combusts.

Seriously I wonder if Loughboro guy was employed as a clever marketing operative from Onkyo to ensure that for the next 12 months we all jump on every post about Onkyo amps just to amuse ourselves about the infamous thread.

I doubt anyone would be clever enough to employ reverse psychology in such an effective way, but every thread about amplifiers now gets a mention of Onkyo all thanks to Loughboro guy... he should be on commission!

I think it compares poorly to the STR-DA2400ES for £199 posted a few weeks back.

i was going to tell u to do some research mate as all sony amp has DTS as its standard/cheap decoder these days. alot of motherboards hav'em too.

But you were right!! checking on official website here it shows the only having Dolby Digital & Dolby Prologic II.

so its a poor amp for the price unless you already hav blu-ray player with HD Audio onboard.

My 8 years old sony amp has DD & DTS & i get HD surround through sony S760. Another thing is where you can use £1 cables for HDMI you'll need at least 6 decent analogue RCA if you are using HD bluray pre-out.

I also tried all different discs/blu-rays, DTS beats DD & DTS-HD sounds better than Dolby TrueHD. I watched Taken in DTS HD & then Batman Dark Knight on Dolby TrueHD. wasnt impressed with natman. DTS has always been meatier sound. full range sound in all speakers & better sound seperation so you know you're making use of those rear surround speakers you paid so much for.

cold because not enough decoders which is the reason to buy a cinema amp/receiver

:D

ps.. onkyo might be a better option against this amp... but not all sony's

pay £40 extra & get this Sony STRDH800

As I paid £124.99 for an unknown Onkyo TX-NR807, then this deal must be better...(_;)
