Only Temporarily out of stock :)

As I mentioned in OP, orders are taken and item will be dispatched as soon as it arrives. This indicates Play.com are expecting stock from suppliers.

Maybe, but I was left hanging on for months last time, and the item never came through.

I had the same problem. Play kept it as an open order for months and then it just disapeared from my order list! No item - no explanation.:x

I do think the details do not state that the batteries included will be 2500mAh so do not expect to get them.;-)

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where I can get a lightweight charger similar to this? I am going travellign and bought a Kinross one from Amazon, great deal but its pretty heavy!

Any tips would be appreciated!

Cheers

Plenty of good reviews here...

Below a similar (cheaper) model:

amazon.com price: $14.44 (£7.31)

I have one of these and have had it for about five years it charges NIMH NiCD and refreshes Alkaline http://www.bargainstock.co.uk/Product.asp?pid=559&c=20&f=&fcat=&pg=1&ttt=Goodmans%20Universal%20Battery%20Charger%20GBC1100%201%20MP%20NIMH%20NiCD%20Alkaline
As for the company www.bargainstock.co.uk don't know a thing about them just found this when I Googled the model number but it seems a good price at £7.99 + £2.50 P&P.

The term Super Quick Charger needs to be taken with a grain or two of salt (and possibly a shot of tequila and lime). I was recently looking for a charger that could charge 4x2300 AAs in about 1 hour and came across many chargers that had fancy names like Super Duper Fast charger that were anything but. You have to read the specs very closely as they often quote a headline rate of 1 hour charging time which turns out to be for AAAs or low capacity AAs.
Most of these Super Duper chargers take 2 hours or more for 4x2300 AAs.
You can find real fast chargers but they usually cost quite a bit. There is even one that is remarkably quick (15 minutes) but requires proprietary batteries to achieve that. It also is a noisy thing as it puts out so much heat that it needs a fan to cool it.
Did anyone find the specs for this charger? Please post here if you did.

Dont bother - last time I ordered this, they cancelled it..........

For travelling, I bought one of these:

http://www.picstop.co.uk/Battery-Charger/Uniross-Globe-Trotter-Pocket-Travel-Charger--RC103719

Charges AA/AAA, lightweight, folds up small, and comes with interchangeable plugs, so there's no need for a separate travel adaptor. Not rapid charge though.

Thanks edi.

I ordered one a few days ago, and despite it never seeming to show as 'in stock' on the website, I got a despatch email and it arrived this morning.

As some were asking about the specs:

It includes 4 2500mAh Sony batteries.
The charger is extremely lightweight, and works between 100 and 240v, so good for travelling.
It takes 4 aa or 2 aaa batteries. You can mix them, but it can't fit more than 2 aaa, or 4 batteries total anyway.
Charging times: 155mins for 1-2 aa. 310 mins for 4 aa. (2500mAh)
90 mins for 1-2 aaa. (900mAh)

The only downside is it doesn't seem to have a charging sensor. It describes 3 safety features: 1. voltage monitoring function. 2. safety timer. 3. temperature monitoring function.
Also the instructions say to only put discharged batteries in. Even though the picture looks like each cell has a separate led, they are in fact just holes, and there is only one lower down which goes from orange (when charging) to off when finished.
