and where exactly can you buy the sony charger with 4 batteries for less?

if you can find it cheaper, post and help someone

if you cant find it cheaper then dont post your opinions about the item in question and help noone, this could be exactly what someone is looking for.

too much here is based on opinions and not enough on fact.

as far as i can see great deal for this item.
#4
Does this charge any rechargable battteries in 15 minutes or only the supplied ones?

It's not 15min, nor is it a Sony one............

It's a little expensive for me, but sony stuff is usually a little overpriced anyway.

I completely understand that mate. I think it depends on who needs it & for what purpose..

For me I dont bother if it takes 2 hours or 15 minutes because I always have a back up plan.

And with regards to the brand, I rea\lly dont bother what brand it is as long as it delivers the best quality for the least price.. :whistling:

Dont believe me on the previous line as I have a Sony TV, Sony Handicam, Sony DVD player, Sony MP3 Player, Sony Mobile, Sony Laptop etc etc..
(Actually most of them I made up as they sounded good) :giggle:  :w00t:

exactly - it depends on who needs it and for what purpose.

Thats why opinions about 15min charging not being needed or that hybrio batteries hold their charge better or 'better deals' are irrelevant here.

This is a deal about Sony Ultra 15 Minute Charger With 4 x 2500 mAh batteries - its not a deal about what is better or worse in your opinion its about the price of the item topics about.

these batteries aren't blue - vote cold i only need and use blue batteries.

Thanks for your opinion.

Someone clearly got out of bed the wrong side this morning!!!!

Or do you always wear an eight year old boy's slippers? :whistling:

Check my post of the charger from Lidl that is actually made by the same people who make them for Ansmann, then add the four Hybrio AAs from Homebase that also come with a charger - and you will see it comes out at a tenner less.

Alternately there was my post for batteries in Screwfix - and the offer is still running for 4 x AAA for four quid.

Or my post for the Uniross charger that comes with 4 AAA (and now also) from Play.com, or alternately my post about the batteries and charger from Jessops (offer now ended). There are far more if you bother to look.

Some people should learn to read the details before they criticise.

Has free speech and the use of capitals become illegal recently?
#11
why did you feel the need to send me the above post as a pathetic pm?
moaning about lack of capitalisation only highlights the fact you dont have a relevant point here when you have to go down to such a level.

you still haven't addressed the fact that this is a 15min charger and that you cant buy it elsewhere cheaper.

dont force your opinions of what people should buy onto them - if they are interested in this item this is the hottest deal - end of.

Still wearing those slippers I see!!! :whistling:

Your message to me said....

none of these charge in 15 mins which is why the price is high and maybe what someone needs - some people should learn to read the deatails before they criticise.

dont send me whiny pms please - YOU are forcing your opinions on others about why its a bad buy.
You gave no cheaper price for the item in topic so you failed to be relevant.

...show me where I said it was a 'bad buy'. I said there were better deals about, but had marked it HOT like I do with virtually all rechargeable offers. The price has now dropped to 20 quid - so there is a hotter deal for you.

A reply should be based on addressing what is actually written - then adding your own opinion. Its a forum - so people expect opinions and don't regard them as being 'forced'. They actually come here to read other people's opinions. Don't just claim someone said something was a 'bad buy' when they did not so it gives you the chance to rant. Can you show me where I said the deal was 'bad'? Try reading properly - so you can see what was said - and try using capitals in your replies too. There are colleges that can help, if you have difficulties in reading and using capitals. :-D

Also the 'whiny pms' was a copy of the post here - which I send to the majority of people when replying to them with a post directed at them if more than half a day has passed since their post.

Have you thought about staying in bed a bit longer and posting later in the day?

The Sony BCG34HUE4 charger has been around since 2004 at least - its an old design, and probably why the price is being discounted. Also it does not mention having individual charging circuits - so if you put in three empty batteries and one that was charged without your knowledge - it will try to shove the same charge into the charged one as the others. So there are newer designs that are are better buys about with individual charging circuits that wont do this.

FInally - as it is an old design - it may charge 2500mAh batteries in 15 mins - but wont manage the newer higher capacity ones in that time. Now behave!

PS:- before you reply - try thinking 'London, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, Moscow, Stockholm'. Its subliminal!!! :whistling::-D

Those supplied are only 2500mAh, so if it does as it says on the box - then yes - but only up to 2500mAh. Newer ones will take longer - with the extra charge time normally being disproportionally longer than the difference in capacity.

Comet and Homebase have instore offers with batteries under a fiver for good spec ones (well - they did on Saturday). We got 8 Hybrio AAs for just under a tenner - and the best charger currently available is a tenner in Lidl and takes 6 AA or AAAs at once, or 4 Cs or 4 Ds, and can also do two PP3 9v batteries at the same time.

I have no flat batteries to test it with - but it topped up 6 x Uniross AA 2700 mAh cells that it initially showed as half charged in under 30 mins. But it could be a lot less - as I went to the shops and the fully charged light was showing for each when I returned.

note the number of capitals in the word 'this' i hope that cheered you up - shame it used up all the ones i was going to put at the start of sentences.
reply away i've made my point and made it relevant, bye.

Tell us your postcode and we can look up a college in your area for you.

We are kind helpful people here - and know the difficulties you may face understanding the phone book or yellow pages.

You still never showed where I said it was a bad buy! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

But don't worry - you can tell us once you complete the college course. :-D:-D

What a load of Tosh!
None of the cheaper chargers were 15 minute chargers so are not relevant to the post !
Also, my 15 min charger ( by a previously unknown name to me) charges 2800mAh batteries individually !

Does a 15 minute charger have an adverse effect on the number of recharges on a battery by comparison to say a 60 minute charger?
#25
This has to be the most hilarious posting for some time :)

I'm not sure this is as hot a deal as others that have been listed beforehand, but it has the benefit of charging batteries in 15 min so it does have it's plus side, so on that, and the pure entertainment provided by (wrong side of bed) 'brilly' and (sunny) 'ibiza', I'll vote hot....... Though a standard one hour charger and a spare set of batteries will often be just as good.
#26
Voted HOT, this is a great price for a Sony-quality quick charger!

That charger from Lidl has nothing to do with the charger from Ansmann, since it was manufactured by a completely different company! I added a note to your post after I contacted the manufacturer in Germany and asked for all the details!

Generally if a battery is charged faster it shortens its life unless the battery is individually monitored during charging with an individual charging circuit for each.

If a cheap charger can only charge 2 or 4 batteries at once - it is averaging the needs for those batteries - so if you charge one that is fully charged (or a gubbed one) it risks trying to shove a full charge into the already charged or gubbed one - so if the gubbed one is capable of taking an infinite charge - the three good ones can get fried - or the already charged one could get fried. Although this is an extreme case - and its more likely to just shorten the lives.

However - there have been posts here of batteries that exploded.

Yes - but to nowhere near as great an extent if the charger has a circuit for each battery.

I replied to that post - listing why i think there is little more than a different case.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/209682/showpost.php?p=2532522&postcount=55

Also...

We buy the charging board in and enclose it in our case - others do it with their cases too and charge a quarter the price.

...would never really be a reply that was good for business - now would it?

Simple facts:

1. This price is the best price I can find for a 15 min charger with batteries, regardless of brand, etc. Hence it is a good deal to those who want a 15 min charger. It annoys me when good deals get voted cold because someone does not want the product offered. This happens far too often with premium products as people do not compare like for like. If you can find an "EQUIVALENT" product for less then please vote cold and fill people in on the deal you have found, if not then don't prevent the deal from making it onto the hot list.

2. The other charger deals listed do represent better value for money if you can wait for your batteries to charge. Again this is definitely worth pointing out on the thread as some people may have only seen this deal and may not need such a high spec charger. However this still should not be accompanied by a cold vote as all you are achieving is making it less likely for those who want this kind of product to find it.

Simple fact of life is you pay a premium for cutting edge technology, old tech costs much less. Rather than argue with people about who is a bigger kid, why don't you think about how this site can benefit people and act accordingly. To myself who is constantly annoyed at batteries going flat in my Wii and 360 whilst playing, the idea of a 15 minute charge sounds great, I'm glad not everyone uses the site without thought for different peoples requirements.

Well sadly few of us can afford football teams - and substitute this with battery chargers - we even treat the batteries as little players!!!! :p

If you want a really fast charger - get a MH - C9000 charger - it lets you set the charge rate for each circuit - you could probably even set it to make them pop!

The Sony one is a 2004 model when the best capacity was sub 2000mAh. When you buy one - test it on new high spec batteries after a few charges and see how long it really takes.

This only works with Sony batteries! I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried it for myself.

EDIT: what I mean is that the charger shuts off straight away if you put another brand in.

Think I'll give it a miss then.
