Looks a good find but takes 3 hours to charge batteries compared with 15 minutes for the Sony.

I think charging batts in 15mins damages them over time

think or know?

can anyone shed more light on this? sounds plausible but i'd prefer to see/hear the facts first.

I dont have any data/info, but thats what i heard from several people on here the last time a 15min charger came up

Then again, maybe you dont mind having to replace the batts early in return for much faster charging

The only one of those chargers I could find on Amazon is £19.99, not £9.99
also note that you only get 2 AAs and 2 AAAs, not 4 AAs as with the Sony.

I can confirm that the Sony batteries and charger are very good. I bought a very similar charger with 4 2500mAh batteries for my camera, and they definitely out-perform some other non branded 'supposedly' 2750mAh batteries I got from eBay.

In fact, I bought 2 packs of 2 of these same batteries from Play.com on the 24th of December, but seeing as they haven't even shipped the order yet (it's stuck on 'Order Taken') I think I'll cancel and get these instead, it's only £5 more and you get a charger thrown in!

Posted the Sony yesterday ( didnt spot your post ) and got a caning ( and now its disappeared) but i bought 2 and they do exactly what it says on the tin - charges batteries in 15 minutes - who wants to wait 18 hours or 1 hour etc - go buy it and use your gadgets every 15 minutes. have some heat remote

Have bought this recently. Charges in 15 mins flat ! Will make sense to use all 4 in one gadget (e.g. an external flash) as the charger doesnt charge when the batteries have different level of charge (i.e. some are are half charged and some fully drained). Heat added!

Its correct that, the faster you charge batteries, the more you will reduce their lifespan. A reasonable max charge rate for standard domestic AA/AAA rechargeables is 1 hour. beyond that, you are pushing the chemistry a bit too hard and they will rapidly deteriorate.

To Expensive Uniross Do The Same Job For Half The Price

I might be wrong - but is this charger not the one that has issues with almost all non Sony batteries?

Lidl still has a fast charger in stock in most stores that will charge 6 x AA or 6 x AAA or 4 x C or 4 x D and two 9v PP3s (or a mix of these - all with individual charging circuits) - its £12.99 in most branches - but £7.50 in at least Glasgow Nitshill (next to Matalan).

what is it about comparing to this one?

at least this one got individual indicators, and it's 2 pound cheaper.

I looked at this but the charge time according to the reviews because none is stated is 270 minutes to full charge
