Sony VAIO EE2M 15.5" White Laptop - AMD Dual Core, 500GB, 4GB Memory

Model No. VPCEE2M1E/WI

The Sony VAIO EE2M 15.5" White Laptop combines style and functionality in its slimline and compact body. Once you flip open the laptop’s lid you’re treated to a 15.5” high contrast LCD display which will show video content in stunning high-definition and in 16:9 ratio, so you get more high-quality images and less unnecessary black bars on-screen.

Video can be viewed from a number of different sources, including the built-in DVD player and re-writer. Alternatively, you can stream and download video content off the internet using the laptop’s wireless connectivity or Ethernet connection. And with a large 500GB hard drive built into the laptop, there’s plenty of room to store all of your favourite flicks, so you can watch them over and over again.

If you’re watching the latest blockbuster with friends, there’s no need to cram yourself around the laptop, thanks to its HDMI output. The HDMI port, as well as the VGA one, can be used to connect your Sony VAIO EE2M 15.5" White Laptop to your HDTV so that you can watch films on a much larger screen. Multimedia files can also be transferred onto your computer quickly, via the eSATA port, which transfers data onto the laptop up to five times faster than a high-speed 2.0 USB port.

Besides the laptop’s vivid screen, web-browsing is made easier and more enjoyable with a quick AMD Athlon 2.1GHz processor and the edge-to-edge keyboard, which features an integrated numeric keypad. And if you’re just nipping online to check the latest news, your Facebook account of emails, the WEB button should prove extremely useful as it will power up your laptop and get you online in seconds.

Could not find anywhere on the web but looking on Sony website if this is the same model it was £549 so hardly a 50% off saving.

Fair comment, however the discount is 50% based on the Best Buy price, I cannot locate another RRP, and therefore have to assume that unless they are committing fraud that the price is correct at time of publish.

It certainly appears to be the same as the one in your post (Sony web link), which may also of course be a sale price.

I cannot find this laptop cheaper, and therefore it is still a good price and a hot deal.

Thanks for the heat so far, Merry Christmas one and all :)

rrp is basically irrelevant, its a low spec vaio for a low price
its not worth more probably and i assume that its an old model and was maybe 799 2 years ago type thing (not suer how long this spec has been around)
same as one i am using right now was 1300rrp 2 years ago but as i bought couple of months ago was less than half that.
rrp is basically false as it suggests recommended retail in current market really but best buy are using it in a different market.

It's a new Sony E series model - they haven't been offering AMD versions for long. New model, but same old trick of stocking a product before xmas at an inflated price before cutting it on boxing day.

The £799 RRP is certainly not representative of its value. This is a £350 laptop with a Sony Vaio sticker on it, making the £399 price what I'd expect.

However, take a look at my HP deal: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/compaq-cq56-110sa-laptop-amd-athlon/834201?view=lastreadpost £314 for 3GB (instead of 4GB) ram and 320GB (instead of 500gb) hard drive, but with 2 year warranty. Other similar deals posted lately too.

If you want the Sony badge, this is probably worth a look. Otherwise I think there are better deals out there (similar for less, or, better specs for this same £400 ish).

Definitely the RRP was not £799. The last time I checked, it was around £500 mark.

Agree that the RRP was over-inflated but not a bad price for the VAIO! With the possibility of Quidco or TCB, £360 is a great price. Would rather have this than the HP as the increased RAM and hard drive are a must! But thats just me ;-)
