Awesome, this looks a great bit of kit; ordered :)
#9
looks stunning and a givaway at this price but note.... this is quite a small screen, size is approx same as a stanndard 6" x 4" snap.

That release date is very misleading - this baby was out mid 2008, i.e. its over a year old now. Still sounds good from the little I know of these, but just wanted to clear that up. It is far from new.
#12
I bought one of these. I know they're tacky but my girlfriend has wanted one for ages now and Christmas is only three months away...heh.

As long as it's brand new new I am happy, it's not a new model I don't care... this is why deals like this come about surely? No brainer realy to me... HOT

Perfect pressie type equipment

Maybe that was the release date in UK? no?

Anyway duly ordered, and H+R added

Credit Crunch.

Can't Buy :-(
#16
hmm... so the photo frame doubles up as a wifi web browser? interesting

voted HOT, just can't spare the cash though
#17
Well I wanted a 9" or a 10" but for this price I bought one. The last Philips 7" i bought was for £179
#18
Cheers OP, been looking for a good frame for around £50. Another tenner and it's got wifi capability - brill! :)

Nice quality and sexy bit of kit no doubt. Tempting for gadget kudos, but I fear it would end up switched off gathering dust after a couple of days once the novelty factor has died as I fear the vast majority of these digital frames end up in that category. :?

Thumbs up to those that do elect to purchase though.

I have had one of these for a while. It's now a discontinued item.

it does look great and the resolution for the size of screen is good.
However, it is rather clunky to use. Just plugging in an SD card and getting it working is a rigmarole.

The RSS feed and streaming from a PC is a great idea.
But again a bit clunky. Turn the unit off and on again and it loses the streaming. you then have to go through the menus to set it up again.

Ultimately a great product but extremely frustrating in use. Not a good present for your granny.

I would guess thats why its now discontinued and maybe they will have a new version out.

At £55 might seem a bargain but you'll be tearing your hair out.

I got a kodak 10" for 150 from Amazon, seems to be around 120 in most places now does the same as this and few bits more like flickr streams

does anyone know if you can update the firmware?
I suspect this may help some of the usability issues?

not sure on this but to everyone who's looknig for a wifi frame, check out the Kodak EASYSHARE W1020, 10" touch sensitive buttons on the frame part, RSS, Flickr, kodak web gallery etc

firmware auto-upgrades, it remembers what feed it was on when you turn it off and on, and best of all, it notifies you when someone uploads a photo to share with you (free kodak account needed)

currys in-store £120 prices above that online

Seriously - this is a PHOTO FRAME!

Who in their right mind would pay this for one - let alone the RRP!!???

(sorry - got up out of the wrong side)

I have paid more for a wooden frame before. Each to there own, maybe you don't have anything worth displaying in a picture frame that costs more than £3 from Asda.

Mine arrived today. It's a doddle to set up and the Google and RSS browser are a breeze, very useful indeed.

Fantastic device, worth every penny and the best picture frame out there

Yup in white, looks absolutely beautiful and comes with remote. Wireless set up in under 30 seconds, it's got Google News, browser and RSS ready to go.

I put it on my bedside table and I can see the headlines of the news in the morning at the click of a button etc etc which I think is great.

Lastly it's branded as a Vaio so expect the usual Sony Vaio quality. It's a class act

Cool, mine is at the post office. Was tempted to order a second earlier today but by the time I had thought about it had sold out again.

I have received mine today. I must say I am very happy with it. Last time I bought a 7 inch Photo frame was a Philips and it was for £179 without wifi or music.
