yup.. i'm pretty sure this is the same as my one, except I have the red version. I've got sims on mine and it works fine, doesn't lag or anything for me!

i agree, fantastic price! they were all about 1000 less than a year ago (though I got mine for 750 through some links :whistling:)..... i still have it now and i love it, works beautifully!

Though I have to say from a strictly aesthetic point of view.. pink and white is very tacky! :p

sillybb5354, when you say red do you mean pink? Think I would prefer blue but its not an option.

How does this compare with the other cheaper Vaio posted at Empire?

Probably worth the extra - its got a much faster processor and Vista needs power....but don't think the screen maybe as good... not sure about the graphics side

if you go to that link it should show the whole range of CR31 Vaios, of which red was the signature colour - that's the one i have. Blue was pretty cool too, it was difficult to decide at the time but i think i chose red cos it had more memory for some reason.

I'm not sure how it compares with cheaper vaios though. I presume it is generally faster, more memory and RAM. You'd have to compare specs though, I'm not an expert :)

Pretty sure I saw a 25% off voucher. You tried all of them?
#15
hmm i may be confused between different models, but anyway this is the one i was talking about that I have vgn-cr11z ...... http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/08/21/Sony-VAIO-VGN-CR11Z-R/p1

sorry if i have confused anyone!
#16

Anyways, this is a great price for this Sony Vaio and this is one of the best laptop deals at the moment. Voted Hot.

The NR21 is a 1.6Ghz processor as opposed to 2.1Ghz, good price though.
#32

Luckily in my half awoken state I managed to put two and two and two together...
Littlewoods + Discount voucher + Quidco = Disappointment
#33

The NR21 has a bigger hard-drive (200GB as opposed to 160GB), but it's a bigger laptop too (15.4") and has a slower processor. For normal usage this won't really be a problem, but for games or demanding work the faster CPU in the other one will be beneficial.
#35
looking good....just a bit wary of the 10% off getting charged back

I'd rather have the bigger screen 15.4

This is a VGN-CR31S/W and in comparison to th n21 in the other post on HUKD (which is out of stock allegedly but people are still ordering) this one has

faster processor (2.1 against 1.6)
more cache memory (3mb against 1mb)
faster bus (800mhz against 533mhz)
built in webcam (Supplied on the n31 and not supplied on the n21 model)
faster memory (667mhz against 533mhz)
bluetooth (supplied on n31 but not on the n21)
upgraded chipset
smaller hard drive (160gb against 200gb)
smaller screen (14.1 against 15.4)
different graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 against Intel x3100)
USB ports (3 against 4)
TV Out (Supplied on the n31 and not supplied on the n21 model)
Weight (2.5kg against 2.9kg)
Battery (Last ten minutes longer on the n31 model and takes 20 minutes less to get to a full charge)

rst of the specs are the same

I was very close, but when using the discount code & Buy now pay april the price went up to 583£ - and that was in the total, so not sure if you do use the BNPL your stuck to paying the added interest ... much confusion

No it can't be upgraded but this uint does have the x2300 albeit it is still "integrated" and not specifically a card. It's a chipset targeted at thin and light notebooks such as this. Certified for Vista and has power management for helping the battery life along with theHyperMemory function. Uses system memory when you are not so you can get up to 831mb of gfx memory and increased performance.

Forget it for Crysis and Bio Shock etc but for everyday use, Vista and lower end games it's fine.
