Yes

I Don't think it is a good deal as the price is fixed and over priced, and you can pick up a budget laptop for less with same or similer spec,

But in my opinion Sony laptops are extremely well designed and have a lot less problems than other makes, like Dell, Acer or any other budget laptop company. ;-)

When working in PC repair we didn't see too many Sony laptops to be honest, but those we did were ******* expensive to fix! Not sure if they are any better now, but Sony used to refuse to sell spares. You could have something repaired by them, but it was always extortionate. I remember one laptop keyboard they wanted £235 to fix, £60 of which was for shipping and you had to use their courier.

If you could find compatible parts then great, if not it was new laptop time. For that reason alone I won't touch a sony laptop, as I like to do my own repairs.

"Due to the higher clock rate (and GDDR5 support), the 3D gaming performance should be above the HD 4570 (predecessor with same TDP range). Therefore, all current games should be playable in low-medium details. Demanding games, like Crysis, NFS Shift, or Modern Warfare ran on the HD 4570 for example only in low detail settings fluently. Less demanding games like Left 4 Dead should run in high detail settings."

Every Vaio, no matter how high the specs, has always been slow when ive used one. The desktop is usually butchered with sony crap that you dont actually need on the laptop. It'd be better if they supplied vaio's without anything installed, including the OS.

they also have i3 on the f series. the i5 version is more expensive on the f series if you choose HD Lcd, highest graphics card and blu-ray  plus i think the E series looks better :p

what price will that bring the cost up to? ignoring the hours of your time to install the new o/s.

despite being a sony fanboy myself, i can't bring myself to vote hot as this is not a good value deal - this is standard pricing.

Ok, for you if your a fashion buyer, but if you ever want a keyboard replacement, part number, change the OS so you need drivers.......you are stuffed as only the service centre will do this for £200 and that's before any parts and labour required..........

How often does the keyboard breaK?

Worst comes to worst, I'd probably make the laptop a desktop replacement and plug in a usb keyboard and then get a new laptop.

But seriously, what are the chances of the keyboard breaking on laptops?

Not bad but I ended up getting a E series 17.3" model with i5 2.26Ghz, Ati Radeon 5650 mobility, 1080p Screen. Better CPU and graphics as I wanted it to be reasonably capable at games too and nicer screen for blu-ray!
