Sony Vaio E Series14" (GLITCH add i5 + AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7670M ) 4gb ram, backlight keyboard £371.06 @ Sony UK £398.99

SawbSawb

**When i was looking at this it seems the initial price was from the education store (even tho i wasnt looking on the education store) so if possible go through there to get the cheaper £371 price and dont forget casback 6.06% with topcashback**

When customizing the vaio if you add the i5 processor with AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7670M graphics instead of adding £80 it reduces the cost from £547.75 to £371.06, ive listed the cheapest you can get it for but adding extras means you can get a 14" i5 netbook with 1600x900 screen, blu-ray reader, for £464.06 add 4gb more ram brings it too £501.28 add blu-ray writer £538.46.

****Seems its safe to ignore the below comment, many people have reported speaking to sony directly and it being confirmed to them it does have the graphics card as mentioned******

When spec is checked AMD graphics is not mentioned eventhough it was selected and such a componant would be shown as its a upgrade. Be aware that buying this laptop expecting a gaming card when it comes it may well not have one. When you read the spec list before buying there is no mention of the AMD card as being part of the system even after selecting it and even going back abd selecting it again, which i find a little weird as its a decent GPU and for it not to show up when you choose full spec puts me off straight away, im thinking there's going to be some very unhappy buyers when it turns up without it.

Very disappointed I missed this. Hope ye all get your orders.

We all ordered knowing it's a glitch. The fact it said "+£80" on the link yet mysteriously took away over £100 made it pretty clear something had gone wrong.

I'll be disappointed if it's cancelled but not angry. Would be a nice gesture if Sony gave all those affected a 10% off voucher or something though. I need a laptop and I'd probably be looking at Sony's Ivy Bridge offerings.

I think there is 6% TCB too so that would take about £20 off. Shame I really don't need laptop. I think i would add the bluray reader, better display and 8gb of RAM for about £540 before TCB. I don't think i will ever burn a blu ray and £40 for an extra 4GB of ram is not that bad of a deal. I don't know what sony are like with warranty and upgrading RAM.

A 4GB stick of DDR3 was around the £10 mark recently. At the moment you can get one for £16.79 direct from Crucial.com (free shipping).

Sure, it is better value but for a budget of £400, the op's deal is unbeatable.

Popoyaya re: the RAM... In 4gb config this probably comes with 2x2gb so to get 8gb you would have to buy two of the sticks you reference for £34. I can understand that people would be happy paying £6 more than this to have it preinstalled (of course if you go the crucial route you can then sell the 2x2gb).

Either i5 will get you the same price but neither come up with a gpu as part of the setup so i would say there's a issue, if the OP originally got one cheaper and it did say with GPU something is now wrong as its more money and no mention of the card and im sure such a upgrade would figure in the full spec which it doesnt and i have followed it right to the end just before credit card details.

The spec says it comes with 1x4GB but I still think it is worth the extra £24 for preinstalled because it avoids any complaints from sony that the new RAM caused the computer to break or something like that. It also ensures that you get the right RAM for the machine and the specs on the box will match the spec in the machine when you come to sell it. I would never pay apple prices for RAM but £40 for 4GB is not that bad if you are spending £500 on a computer.
