How do the year 1 resale values of this compare to the year 1 resale values of a MBP?

Thats when the Apple starts to make sense

Why sell it after a year though? If I was spending £1200 on a laptop, I'd be holding on to it forever...

well said. Something like that should last you 5 years:thumbsup:

Impressive spec, kind of makes my dual core processor look quite pathetic :(

Can't deny the spec on the Sony is impressive but once again it is let down by the battery life which is only 3 hours. The MacBook Pro has an 8-9hr battery!

Why is it that PC laptops have such a pathetic battery compared to Apple?

However long you keep it for... Apple will always be worth more.

Have some heat and rep from me.

I bought the Vaio VPCF11Z1E this year (nearly same specs as this but with 8gs of memory and a Blue-Ray writer). Before that I've had a Vaio AR21S for four years. TOP QUALITY and worth every penny.

Apple fans, if you like Apple so much why are you looking at Vaio deals - jealous? ;-)

Well people moan about Apple laptops costing mega bucks to buy in the first place, but when you take into account they hold onto their values very well they start to make sense if your the sort of person who buys and then upgrades every 12-24 months.

That's the valid part.

Still, most people wouldn't fork out £1200 on a laptop then decide to sell it or buy a new one next year. I'd be holding on to it for dear life until it died in my arms.
