Same spec from Sony is £1,089.01. +£7.20 delivery.

*edit* The display on this one seems to be "Vaio+" and not "Vaio Premium" which is on the Sony spec. Vaio Premium has "Adobe RGB Colours: Wider colour coverage for professional photo enthusiasts, printers and producers," though the play.com description also says "pro grade Full HD screen," so maybe it is the Vaio Premium... Might be worth contacting them before ordering for clarification.

Yer why so cold people Vaio are considered good and its got usb 3.0?

Not a bad price for the spec, would be nice to see a 2nd Generation i7 in there though, like the 2630 or 2720QM. Same regarding the GPU.

£1029 with same spec on Sony website, so I would say hot!

6GB RAM, 500GB HDD and Blu Ray player upgrades make it £1089.01.

I can't decide whether this is good or bad -

1080p LCD = good
Last gen i7 = bad
6GB DDR 1333Mhz = good
Dedicated GPU = good
GPU is also last gen = bad
SATA2 or 3? = no idea

For £700'ish, Id have said this was a good deal. But since when are Sony laptops good value for money?
Thankfully my XPS 17 blows this thing out of the water, so I don't have to think too hard about it.

Was your XPS 17 cheaper than this?

You can get an XPS 17 with an i7 2630QM and Nvidia GT 555M for £811 (also has SATA3, still no idea about the Sony), that's a hell of a lot more power than this Sony.
You lose out on the full HD screen, Blu-ray playback and bluetooth, so it's swings and roundabouts (of course, you can add these onto the XPS if you're willing to pay extra).

I prefer the extra power of the Dell, but others may prefer the better LCD and BR on the Sony.
