I have been looking for a low weight, reasonable size laptop for a but and have come across this Sony Vaio, everyone else has it at upto £1300 so for £1067.42 less quidco which I calculate at about £26.00 your paying only abour £1040, might not be the bargain of a century, but think it is a good machine at the best price on the market by at least £100.

Comes up as £1105.05 using the attached 2 vouchers takes of 2.5% and £10 to give £1067.42

Feel free to say if you can find it cheaper, or if there is an equal or better specification machine at the same if not better price.

By the way I have read that you can get the warranty changed from 1 year to 3 years with sony for only £150, which to mee seems aot better than paying £15 a month or £519 lump sum, but if anyone has details please feel free to post.

I normally get negative scores, but lets hope this time I can atleast get a flicker of heat, but will let you decide.

if over priced please guide me to a similar 13.3inch screen under 2kg with this spec. I can understand if overpriced if the unit was larger and heavier but for those of us that need something lite and small I think this fits the bill!!!

Which vouchers to get for this price, does it have a dedicated graphics card:thinking:

use this three vouchers XX230 (20% off) ZG0333 (£30 off) ZQ298 (£2.95 off)

I dont think this laptop comes with dedicated grapphic card. As a lightweight laptop is more for bussiness usage instead of gaming purpose.

Yes prob the cheapest price you can get this for but over a grand for a laptop is big money!

When I upgraded from a cheapo dell laptop to my ultra mobile I said I would never go back to a standard laptop, so I didnt.

I bought a desktop as couldn't justify spending over £1000 on a laptop that I'll change in a year.

But if it fits your needs and you have the cash go for it.

Ps Dont let it out of your sight or it will be stolen (most desired make of laptop to be stolen, Endsleigh insurance)

WAY too expensive, and a Vaio to boot. If you are gonna pay this price for this spec you might as well pay the extra £150 for 2 more years warranty (in itself overpriced). Given my experience with Vaio's I'd say you need it. Cold from me.
#12
As mentioned above, you would be better off with a Macbook
#13
Thank you all for comments, any chance someone could then guide me to an appropriate macbook and is it quite simple formatting the hard drive and installing a new vista/XP and presumably a cost for the new software?

You don't install XP on Macs - you use OSx or Linux
#15
So if cannot install Xp, what about vista?? (sorry wel out of my depth here!)
#16
You can install XP + Vista easily on a macbook via BootCamp which is technically a beta till leopard comes out, once its installed it works fine. Only problem is having to use two fingers mouseclick for right mouse, why they oculdnt have put two sensors at either end! :(
