thanks just had a look. poor battery life of 160min. If i am paying this much i would at least expect a 6 cell battery.

I bought one in M&S a couple of days ago for £292.99 so may be worth checking your local store. Great little netbook btw.

I had a Sony Vaio TX2 (before some *******s knicked it) and the fan became noisy... Sony wanted £150 just to look at it, and they don't sell the spare parts so you have no choice but to pay their service centres the rip-off price. Quite often spares have to be sent from Japan so repair times can be quite long.

So, either avoid buying sony laptops or get the extended warranty.

The battery life on this for a mini is just so unacceptable...

I guess it depends on what you use it for, we use a mini Vaio for work and it rarely needs to be used for long sessions unplugged. Most trains and airports have plugs you can use. The most important factor is size and weight, a bigger battery just means more weight.

would think samsung NC10 with 6 cell battery would be less bulky than this sony with PSU

Can't compete with the Nc-10 which is approx £100 less.
