Weak graphics,HD... Depends for what you are buying laptop.
#3

#4
burning hot..

If only I had not got the CPW Dell one
#5
Looks good!
#6
Does anybody still want Vista?
#8
Hot deal. I nearly bought one for £100 more the other day. Thanks OP, mine is ordered and will be with me by Friday :-)
#9
I would say that you are just paying for the brand..

2.16 Ghz is quite a old processor..

Also intel graphics means that its shared with the RAM.

Hot if you are kicked by the brand and the looks..

Looks pretty hot to me.

It is a hot deal, I recently bought one from M&S for approx £480 although I got £35 quidco and triple points on M&S card plus the 2 year Warranty which swung the deal. It is a good laptop and I believe you can register for a Free upgrade to Windows 7
#12
Win 7 upgrade or not?

Don't forget the build quality. My last Vaio still looks fantastic after 2 years whereas a Fujitsu-Seimens I had was falling apart in that time.

Looks good i'm tempted as my Dell CPW order was cancelled due to CPWs silly way of dealing with orders.

Impressed with 4 hours battery life but would have liked built in bluetooth, decisions decisions ....
#15
Quite heavy and no Win 7 upogarde from what I can tell. Soem wirless issues too. Apart from that HOT but I think I will stick to teh CPW Dell.
#16
In my opinion, it really depends on the user. If you know computer very well. brands doesn't making too much difference.
#17
please can anyone tell me if this will play sims 3, I so want to get it for my dd but am afraid I will buy it and not be able to play it and I don't know about argos returns policy on postal deliveries. I am almost tempted to suck it and see cos the deal is sooo goood.

It will play it on low to medium detail settings ,Sims 3 is a slow moving game so even if it gives a low FPS it will still look ok,

Would I be able to play Call Of Duty 5 on this laptop okay?
#22
thank you Tony I am soooo grateful thank you thank you mwah x

From said review.

"Another area where there has been some obvious cost-cutting is in processing power. Rather than the Core 2 CPUs we're used to seeing, Sony has used the older Mobile Pentium T3400. This dual-core processor still runs at a relatively nippy 2.16GHz, but less cache, a slower 667MHz front-side bus and a less efficient architecture mean performance isn't as impressive as lower-clocked Core 2 Duos. Still, it should handle the average user's demands with ease."

So don't be fooled by the 2.16GHz CPU in the spec.

this is a good deal if you want the sony brand on ur laptop.

I would go for one with a better graphics card myself.

"Graphics are handled by an integrated Intel Express 4 series chipset, so the poor score of 12.7fps in TrackMania Nations Forever (on medium detail at the screen's native resolution of 1,280 x 800) is not unexpected. Basically, you won't be able to run any but the most basic games on this Sony."

System requirements for COD5 below:

Processor: AMD 64 3200+/Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or better
Memory: 8 GB free hard-drive space, 512MB RAM (XP)/1GB RAM (Vista)
Graphics: Shader 3.0 or better, 256MB Nvidia GeForce 6600GT/ATI Radeon 1600XT or better

Buy this one. Should be good for gaming :p:w00t:

Great for school/university work, no good for game, photo and video editing.

Its a good laptop. Not as nice as an Apple, but as good for a PC!
Quality/Looks > Specification IMO!!

Great machine for the money, heat added. Vaio build quality at Acer price point. Yes, faster graphics would be nice, but if you're after a pc to play games on you're not going to be looking at the £350 price range!!

By the way, the poster that mentioned that there were wireless issues, where did you get that info from??
#37
it was from amazon reviews
#38
Really good price! But the reason is that the upgrade of this model is coming out tomorrow. Search for Sony Vaio on the play.com website to see what I mean. THe new model will have a slightly faster processor, and some slightly better specs, plus windows 7 pre-installed. But it is at £499..... so quite a big price difference.

EDIT: disregard what I just said! I thought this was the NS30.... which the new model is coming out tomorrow.

Need a straight forward answer now......

Which is the better laptop.... the cpw dell or this sony?

I bought the dell but can easily sell it if the sony is better?

need guidance please

i would stay clear of buygreendot. They appear to be in the uk but have actually got .com emails. People have actually said they are an fraudelent american company. Even though they may not be, i wouldnt risk your money on it without reviews.

Always go for the well reviewed sellers.
