only a t3 dual core, you really need to look for a t5 or t7, there have some on here for under £500

But for a Sony Vaio NS Series, it's a good price.

2 year guarantee is excellent though

Anyone know any good deals for around 500-550ish, for a machine with 1400*900 or maybe 1680*1050? Not impressed with all these laptops at 1280*800 on a 15", that's way too little screen estate.

trouble is Sony are selling things based on there name and upping the price and people are falling for it.

But if its what you want thats what this site is for

Works for apple

I heard Sony Vaios are very well built though, is that not true.

My experience with acer was horrendous so I was looking for the Vaio name with my next laptop.

ive owned couple sony vaio laptops

pcg-c1xd & pcg-x18 both old now but really well built and sexy, in there time they were awesome
BUT so expensive, not sure there really worth there pricetag compared to what else you can buy...

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/4803/article.html

Im going to try flog them both on eeebay as i just bought myself a sexy samsung nc10

The tesco direct one with a Geforce 8400 and a T5750 is far better, £419 i think too. Alright, 1GB less RAM but the rest of it makes up the difference. Housemate's just got one and it's a lovely machine

Hi Callum, this is my first VAIO, and my first laptop also. Ive only ever owned desktops before. I have a VGN-CR21S, which is the T7250, 2GB, 160GB model and i think its fantastic! Apart from all the rubbish that was preloaded on it, its a fantastic bit of kit. Its been dropped many times by my daughter, picked up by its lid only and still works like it did the first day. One of the screws and a rubber pad on the bottom have dropped off but ive had it a year now so thats not bad going. Fiance bought me a matching case for it at xmas :gift::oops: They really are something special to look at! :-D

BeerGoggles - One day, I would love to see great laptop deal posted by YOU .So far, you are mostly focused on criticisms of the others...hmmmm...and yes...I did remember your past posts commenting my topics.
Not everybody has to estimate attractiveness of laptops through the prism of performance of graphic card.Just accept it.

i am typing on this very laptop, purchased from M&S a few weeks ago. It is a good laptop, maybe not the latest processor or the best graphics card but it is a good solid laptop with plenty of style. One thing I guess would make it a a great laptop for me personally it a slightly higher screen resolution. Plus as somebody has already said you have a 2 year warranty. Mine cost me about £395, this was including the vat reduction, quidco and 5% cashback on amex. For £395 and a two year warranty it is a great deal.

Man ur ian diot. How can me saying this is a good deal for a Sony but commenting on the fact it has a poor graphics card be considered a criticism of the Op's find. It's a fact. I will endever to voice my opinion any time I like my dear 7777777. Get over it and yourself. And ho so sorry if one of my previous comments cut deep and hurt you emotionaly, but this is just a deal site, get a grip. :w00t:

ok try this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/152233

No its not a high end gamer card but decent enough to run a lot of games at mid level and run HD video. Its about 3 times better performance than the one in this one. Again I might point I I am not criticising the OP I just think when you are paying 400 ish pounds you should pay attention to the graphics capability otherwise you might as wel go for a 300ish lappy for general office use.

Mmmmm, kinda failed on the reliability there.:-D (And yes, i do have a Vaio, but a mate that unfortunatly is a so called "tech guy" at PC World says he gets little if any Vaio's in to fix. The majority he sees are HP's and Advents)

Anyway, it's not about which brand of laptop is better than the other. It's supposed to be about getting the best deal for the model posted. If anyone finds THIS model cheaper elsewhere then that is fine, it's not about comparing it to completely different makes

So, how a critisim of integrated part of laptop is not a criticism of the product itself? - You are beatiful but very fat... :) Was that a compliment? Some people like those fat.
I just pointed out a fact that not everyone,I would say a vast majority of laptop users, do not use it for serious gaming so gaming performance of graphic chip is totally irrelevant for them. What's more, dedicated graphic will help to drain battery so may reduce portability. However, I noticed that every laptop with integrated graphic, poorly performing in games, means rubbish for you. That's not right and reason why I commented on you.

I did not call you names, so do this so too.The quicker you learn, the safer your nose .Unless you are so brave online exclusively :)

Ebuyer's HP ?Yes, that's a great laptop (seriously :)) , I believe it's also that exceptionally good because you have just bought similar one, haven't you :) .Unfortunately, it's not your post so try harder.

I would not feel sore about any of my deal as I really don't care what people think about me or deals.I am a normal human-being so I am happy if I can help , and I am not so glad if my attempts are not appreciated...but it's a long way to feel sore or hurt.I have seen in my life too much, to be worried about so little things, believe me.

Congratulations to the pair of you, for effortlessly managing to paint such vivid pictures of yourselves as hopelessly illiterate 12 year olds. Tell me, which one is going to start the "Your momma so fat" jibes first? Why not take it to email between yourselves, so the adults can get on with reading about decent deals?

Congratulation to your smartness but you didn't explain what you though. My 'illiteracy ' might come from being foreigner and having learn English for 4 years with no experience before? My apologise to all, who feel offended by those posts and language I used...

Would there be much difference between the T5500, is it marginal? Like the look of this laptop....compared to my Acer aspire 5633..is the screen any good?

Also liked the FW21L Vaio.

I have the NR21 which is the same only with 1gb more ram and a slightly faster processor and it's great.

However, the NR is getting on a bit and so the NS is it's replacement. An extra £20 for the newer model, with built in webcam is worth the extra cash :)

Also, the NS posted also has an extra years warrenty, not that you'll need it with it being so reliable but hey, peace of mind and all that:-D

cheers seen that but im in the awkward position that i have 600 credit at amazon and obviously am tied to there for a laptop

not that great a choice there or i find 1 that not quite got the spec i want or its a fair bit cheaper elsewhere!

i seen the fw21l at marks' last week for just over 500 quid which was good deal and its somewhere else for about the same price also but its not available at amazon and best i can find is ar71m but its 679 and not sure i wanna pay that much and there arent many reviews around

gonna wait til sun/mon see if any new deals come up there

Quidco cashback is not guaranteed and not everyone uses it anyway so it's generally accepted that the price shown in the main heading is the price without quidco cashback taken off. By all means quote it in the text though as it's useful to know.

I have a FW21L which i got from comet for £585. Very nice machine, with high res screen and blu ray drive and dedicated graphics for £150 more. Depends what your willing to spend on a laptop really.

Thanks. As I said, my first (Acer) was dreadful. I currently have a Fujitsu Siemens that is still working ok (but then again, at this point, the acer was...). The thing that put me off vaios in the past was the far higher price tag but although they are still more expensive than the equivalent acer etc, they are a lot more affordable nowadays.

Looks like a great mid-level laptop. I do like a Sony product - might order one of these if the deal holds for a while longer

It's not 10% off. It's £10 of £100 spend.

The voucher was linked to in the original post. I've re-linked to it again below.

But the OP stated:

this has a Intel processor unlike the Hp with AMD that was posted before. "

After reading that, I assumed he was in the know and the voucher would be worth 10%.

The voucher is / was already attached to the original post, and it's £10 off £100. Maybe OP mentioend incorrect info, although £10 off £100 is strictly 10% off that amount only.

I assumed the voucher was removed because it wasn't available yet.

The OP definitely said 10% off the price, which would mean about £45 but it looks like it was a typo that no one picked up on. :?

BTW, has anyone managed to use the £10 voucher with the laptop, as we tried to order it earlier and it said the voucher was not valid with this order?
