Hard to know if these Sonys are worth the premium without seeing how much difference the extra screen resolution makes...not voted either way...
#2
The rules re the res have been relaxed by Intel so many of the new ones will be this screen res, cold for me as this price includes the 'Sony' premium.
#3
What rules are these? Not being funny, just curious ;)

When netbooks were becoming popular intel said than any they supplied the Atom chipset for were only to have screen res up to 10024x600 for the 10" netbooks. Or summat like that

These will sell by the bucket load I reckon, same spec as all the others but that vaio badge will make all the difference.

It's all about the ergonomics and the benchmarks with these. Lets wait for the reviews.

Max 160gb, screen res and maybe a couple of other things that they allowed. Seems odd doesn't it! Google it.

Adidas Addict, I wish I could get 10024 by 600...;) Typical for an Apple fanboi!

This netbook uses the Intel Atom Processor N280 1.66GHZ and has a screen resolution of 1366×768 with LED Backlight and the build quality is much higher than other manufacturers. If you can find this model for cheaper or a different brand for cheaper with the same specifiations then this is definitely a cold deal.

Did you mean 1024x600?
#10
Cold - about £100 more than it should be!

Even with the so called build quality and high res screen it's just a netbook!

What's the battery like with this bad boy?

My NC10 lasts forever. I'd want at least 6 hours run time before I consider and upgrade.

Apple take note ;)

Only about 2.5 hrs I think, unlike my macbook pro which lasts at least 7hrs basic wifi surfing:thumbsup:

Read the specs from the link! How can you be scientific about battery life, all you can do is take the manufacturers claimed figure with a pinch of salt

Battery Lithium-Ion ( )
Battery Life 2.5 Hours
#15
not worth it imo save up and spend it on a macbook air!!! or buy a samsung nc10
#17
all the people who say they arent worth it i spose you havnt even seen 1!!

i tried 1 out in the sony shop and i can say its got the best keyboard on any "netbook" ive seen 80-90% full size and non of that springy crap, also the screen is in a different class to any other cheaper competitor by a huge margin and you dont have to scroll across to read the damn web page due to the higher resolution.

yeah you can spend £100 quid or more less and get a similar specced machine but the quality of this is worth the premium and the kudos of owning a vaio;)

It doesn't have the same specifications as the Samsung. The Sony has a better processor (Atom N280) and a higher resolution (1366 x 768).

2.5 hours is pathetic and the NC10 keyboard is a joy to use...

Sony SUCK.
