its the 2nd gen sandy bridge processor i think its a good deal but look at what you need it for as this is a 16.4 screen so will be heavy to carry around

Pretty sure it didn't as it's only been out less than 18 months. It's based on the GF108 core so is fermi based so even in it earlier spin of the 435m its still only about 2 years old.
If it has a Nvidia GPU and is about 4 years old it will probably be a GTX260m, 9800m GT, 8800m GT, 8600m GT.

GT540m was launched on January 5, 2011, so <18 months is a good guess.
