This is a deal on the top of the range Vaio Z (the very last model before the current i5&i7 models came out). Its in Bordeaux red. Sony's live stock control is shocking on the website, but they have 20 left of the 27 the had go onto clearance today (I ordered one). I would recommend ordering over the phone as they actually check real stock and reserve one as they process your order.

call: 0845 6000124 (local rate from a BT landline, other
network charges may vary). Call Monday to Friday 9am - 8pm, Sat 9am - 6pm,
Sunday 10am - 5pm.

These won't be around for long at this price.

If you're struggling getting to the clearance section, click on any vaio and click customise, there will then be a link in the left hand menu for the clearance section, for some reason it won't let me link direct and sony make it hard work to find the clearance.

Is this slightly more than the price of a 250 gb ssd hard drive ...seems a bargain

Yeah, it was the 256SSD & BluRay writer that swung it for me, couldn't resist lol. The CPU is an absolute flyer too.

What an amazing bargain, great find!!

Way way over priced. The processor is ok, and the premium on the Blu Ray and SSD might be fine by some.Today, for £800 + you have to seek a well rounded platform, and the GFX on this are really lacking.

Not worth more than £450, and the SSD is just silly.

You're just plain wrong there. For anyone apart from a gamer the 9300m GS is perfectly fine for a 13" ultra portable.

Did you have to pay P&P online even though it says free on the website? That's why I rang up in the first place so I could get the free P&P, every penny counts (_;)

well done I did not know about this! I know this website is crazy in stock allocation, I wanted buy some laptop on sale but whenever was good prize and at the checkout I saw error message, please call centre, obviously no more in stock and they want people to call them and sell much more expensive models

As has been said the graphics on this aren't up to the speed of the rest of the bundle - but they're switchable to give better battery life and if you don't want a lot more out of them than HD video and playing some less stressful or older games then this is a good looking deal.

Yeah its obviously not a gaming a rig, but in low details you should able to play most things.

Compared to the old 8400M G, the 9300M GS has a higher core speed and is therefore faster. Modern DirectX 10 games will run only in low details and resolutions. Older DirectX 9 games, like HalfLife 2 or Far Cry run fluently in medium to high details.

As you say it's not a gaming machine, and I didn't mean to run the deal down - I had already edited my comment to be a little more generous to the GPU - I'll go back and remove the 'fairly pants' comment as it's not really fair ;-)
I was looking at the benchmarks on notebookcheck - that showed Far Cry 2 playable at low settings and Crysis just not playable; but given the power of the CPU and SSD HDD I'm sure what you quote is correct.

Thanks for the answers guys.

If anyone's on the phone ordering one, ask how many they have left. They had 20 left when I posted the deal. I friend of mine now wants one but cannot buy until he gets paid tomorrow. Probably no chance by then.......

He's just text me to say he will give me a grand for mine when it comes next week lol :D No chance matey :p

wow i am proper tempted! how easy is it to replace the ssds for another drive?

Yeah I wasn't having a go mate, I just didn't people to think the graphics were not up to any gaming at all, even casual.

you have to open it and void warranty, those laptops are pretty tiny inside, I believe there is going to be 1.8 inch drive which is not really cheap, I bought primarly to have ssd drive cannot see why should it replace it to drive cost cheaper
#36
Thanks OP, your a top geezer.

I didn't need it but I've got it so time to sell my three week old system!
They had 6 left in stock although there were 7 when I started my call and other people were ordering so they will all be gone soon!

Most of the amazing deals have now sold out. I was just ordering the £344 priced laptop, entered all my details and it came up with contact call centre. Went back and item was out of stock.

So many bargains, but so many now sold out. Good luck if you get the laptop you want.

Woah...just bought one of these machines at £1,400 from the clearance store which I thought was a good deal...ouch. I've phoned them up and they reckon they can't refund the difference although they're going to confirm that tomorrow, I've ordered two more (one to cancel as I'm concerned that one might be blocked by my CC company) to make sure I get one.

Absolutely stunning machine for just 850 quid.
