one of my first mp3 players years ago was sony - do you still have to use that program to transfer music across or is it all drag and drop these days?

Who still buys these - why dont you just use your phone!!

As far as I know it is drag and drop. The clue was in the "# Drag and drop with Windows explorer" feature :-)

I will let others argue the points of using a phone as an MP3 player as opposed to using a dedicated product.

dedicated music players are generally better than phones and this is a decent little player especially at this price.

If yours had a limiter you wouldn't need to shout

lol - I wish I came up with that.

How loud do people actually want their volume? I used to have it quite loud until someone told me on the train that it was too loud and irritating people - I have been in the same situation and I have found it irritating. Volume limiter is there for a purpose and I am pretty sure that under EU law it now has to be built in as a default. Would you want your teenage kid listening to their MP3 and causeing untold harm to thier ears?

So you prefer newbies to be pushed around? how am I exactly 'pushy' ? as you have been on the board so long please give me your wisdom on how to avoid being pushy to a newbie like me?
Did you bother asking the person who posted it as cold as why? I gave quite a few reasons for being cold.

Not laziness just using a netbook which limits my functionality

There is absolutely no way to remove the volume limiter on my model I have tried everything.

I agree loud music is an issue for health and causing a nuisance to others on trains/buses and so forth but the volume on my Walkman is far, far too low, even with very good, noise cancelling earphones.

Maybe that would make it a good buy for youngsters, but I can barely hear it if there is any type of background noise so I would never buy another one.

great price.

Apparently the volume limiter (AVLS) can be turned off but users who have say it makes no discernible difference and resorted to ramping up the EQ settings.
