I have some terrific quality old school cassette players tucked away in various corners of the house. I suggest anyone who is thinking of buying one of these to go and search the house for one before buying. They are great for audio books.

I found my old (decent) sony walkman the other day whilst tidying up. I know for a fact I've not used it for over 9 years, pressed play and by some kind of miracle it just starts playing. (So yeah that's 2 double A's that have been sitting in there for nearly a decade that still work, as does the player. LEGEND! - Towards the end of it's life people were getting Mini Disk players - this was both smaller and the battery life lasted longer :)

Erm yeah not this one and I'd not buy one but still, mini nostalgia moment lol

Oh, the days of the mixtape you made for a friend or a potential spouse.
I have a few nostalgic tapes knocking around - with classic moments and spoken word that will never be replicated on mp3 in the same way.
My Walkman did me 15 years service - day in, day out.
The best bit about the Walkman was the fact you couldn't skip tracks very easily - so you would force yourself to listen to songs you'd rather miss and in the process become enamoured by them. Great bit of kit - those that are putting it down are clearly either too young or never could afford one.

Who ever said you need an iPod to rock the party never came across this lovely portable record player. It comes with a “convenient” carry handle, removable dustcover with locking slide latch, an on board monitor and felt slipmat to show off your mad scratching skills. You can also connect it to any existing system. Takes only 6 “D” batteries, details on the weight of this portable puppy seem to be missing.

Loads, just make sure you get yourself a 120 rather than the C90, and then you'll get 120 minutes approx

Course not, just make sure you buy a pink one, he'll be the most popular lad in school for sure.oO

I had to do a double take at this post - I thought they'd stopped making these things years ago! Doesn't half take me back.

Heat added.

In it's day I would have died just to own one Now I'd rather die than to admit I owned one!
