The price sticker in the photo looks like you printed it and stuck it on yourself.

For pop music stations and speech radio the sound is ok. Not sure about dance or rock music as I don't listen to them

Not sure if or when anything will appear on DAB+ though

This is without a doubt the single worst purchase I ever made.

The speaker is tinny. The amplifier can only be described as god-awful turd.

The build quality is one step up from a yogurt-pot.

Underpowered, tinny, distorted.

The shape of Sony to come?

I wouldn't pay £2, let alone a tenner.

Lol. If i could manage that and get them to honour it, i'd be sticking it on something a bit better than this! :D

I suppose it depends on what you want out of it, after using it for a few hours now, im well happy with it.
I uses to have a grundig ocean boy 340 that i took around everywhere. I was gutted when it stopped working, bringing back the old days with this, but slightly more up to date.

What i will say about this sony is that it is a bit plasticy, but at the same time its well finished.
The sound is good for a single speaker unit i thought, but each to their own :-)

Absolute 90's has just this month disappeared from down here in the South West..... which has really pisd me off as I listened to it a lot.
Don't think we ever got Absolute 60's & 70's down here...... although we've always had Absolute 80's.

Hi, they were in the yellow wire bins with the rest of the reduced stock, in the open area behind the travellator, directly in front of the doors.
They were in the bin closest to where the bakery counters are
There were three left in the early hours of this morning when we left

:) The famous impartial review site said:

"It's compact and portable, but the only place you're likely to want to take it is back to the shop you bought it from."

Love the text in the OP.

Might be a silly question but I bought this for £34 from John Lewis about 6-7 days ago, any chance they will refund me the difference now?

You have 28 days from the purchase date to make a price match claim. :)

Brilliant radio, well worth £10. I have the same one and its good for portable use, I carry it in the box as well. Good sound although some people will think it's tinny, for the size I think it's fine. I paid £35+ for the red one from Amazon. Have some heat.

I have this radio and I personally think it's brilliant. A tenner is a steal I think.
#34
It'll be £10 for the white ones as they were previously £15. The black ones went down to £34 briefly and now back to £44. The boxes look more or less identical- just a small black or white colour indication on the far right.

Were you scanning a white unit?

A friend of mine bought one and they are ok I gues but they just arnt loud enough.heat for the spot tho

great find!
#38
what's the point in DAB when the quality is so poor you can't hear the difference with AM?

The plastic volume nob is fragile.

The headphone amp is so bad the output distorts above 50pvt volume.

They even put a black corded transformer in with the black version so it looks awful.

Sony are on their way out. Waste of a tenner.
#39
does anyone know what board/chip is inside these? I'm looking for a specific board to plug into for some software tinkering, and its cheaper to get a prebuilt radio than to buy the chip from the manufacturer!

£44.00 in Dundee Kingsway branch too - in a horrible beaten up box that had been taped together; clearly ex-display and the reduction hasn't filtered down yet. Might be worth checking next time I'm in getting some milk. Thanks for the heads up anyway - I always have a quick check when I'm popping in to get a few items.
