argos its £39.99 - also seems to be out of stock in my area

this is pretty good for the money but anyone seeking to actually use it away from mains power will be spending a fortune on batteries.

Im using 2700 mah rechargeable ones and they only last about 6-7 hours i reckon.

I bought its predecessor XDRS50 on Ebay for £23 new in August last year, so check out Ebay first.

I got this from Argos for less than £20 over a year ago, it's regularly half price in there.

Thought these were meant to be coming down in price?

Eh? I use this, I bought Sony compact charger from Play.com (when they were on offer for £3.99) and use the 1700mah batteries it came with, they last a good week with me using it about 8 hours a day....Maybe you need some better batteries or you have a dud?

well maybe 7 hours was a little conservative...

but all the amazon reviews seem to agree with me about the battery life...
maybe you got a freakily good one

What price is it at Argos, there are three different prices in this thread, who to believe. It is a good price, not hot though as it has been between £20-£25 at a few places in the past year.

DAB is dead. Buy an internet radio.

DAB isn't dead....but it won't last forever according to some people.

It's very expensive for radio stations to transmit DAB radio, mainly due to the high initial cost of the equipment....however there are still a large number of DAB only stations out there and roughly 2 million sets are sold each year.

Check out this article if your pondering between internet or dab, personally I went for something that does both

Of course. I mean, there are only 9 million DAB radios out there!

Last year over 2 million DAB radios were bought in the UK, as opposed to 40,000 internet ones - and half of those had DAB in them as well!
