is this radio any good?
#2
Not sure - but Ive pre-reserved it as its a great price for a DAB in the kitchen. If it aint it will go back!

£40 at Richer Sounds is cheapest Ive seen. Take a printout to Richer Sounds and they will beat it by £5! Making it 19.97. I just thought of that! :)

I'm not an expert but this states mono speakers, surely that is a bit of a negative, surely you would expect stereo at a minimum?? happy if anyone can clarify as I'm tempted but unless someone can explain different I will hold out for a good deal on a stereo one. :santa:

Can`t find a review anywhere on this. Nothing on Sony website either. I don`t think it is an internet radio. If you enlarge the picture you`ll not see anything indicating so. Nevertheless, a good but at 1/2 the price in John Lewis

Stereo is a bit pointless for single box systems of any type. You need to have the speakers at least several feet apart to hear it really (or have it about 20cm directly in front of your face).

You could try the Currys' price promise with this as Currys do it for about £50, bringing it down to around £22.50. However, in order for them to pricematch to PCW they practically have to be able to see the store (it's within 10 miles apparently) you are matching too.

I think we all know what chance you have with DSG price matches though. But, if Currys have it and PCW have it and they are both the same and both stores are in the same area you would have a pretty tight case. Just don't take any of their sudden confusion and cloudiness on the issue. Honestly, mention price match and it's like asking the mafia about crime - "Yous must be mistaken dere.. We, er...we don't do dat price matchin' does we Knuckles?" "No boss, I ain't even hoird of it - don't even know what dat matchin' is"
