Could people voting this cold please state why.

It is a 4 inch sony smart phone for less than £30. If you have a better deal then post it.

What's the criteria for qualifying though?

What's the criteria for qualifying though?

I think you have to have been a regular payg customer for 6 months, ie topped up £10 per month.

You can just put your number into the checker and see if you qualify.

I used my mates Orange mobile number to proceed when ordering this over the phone, my own payt EE didn't qualify for some unknown reason. So I suggest placing order over phone as the sales people are pretty willing to find a way to help you qualify.

Hmmm my last CPW upgrade went all bad- I ordered the cheapo £9.99 LG L20 smartphone and they failed to deliver within 3 weeks due to them not having a Tmobile SIM (crap excuse if ever I heard one) so they (web order dept) tell me to cancel the order and reorder and ask for no SIM. So I do this, CPW then tell me my PAYG number has used up its elligability for an upgrade (due to the cancelled order) and I'll have to call Tmobile, explain CPW's cockup and ask them to realease the upgrade code so the SIM can be used again for another upgrade.

So I could phone Tmobile and spend an hour trying to explain CPW's cockup or I could stick my head in a tank of sulphuric acid,

I took option two as being the least painful and at this point I gave up and have a £9.99 credit with CPW that'll I'll probably never use

Unfortunately I can't get one myself as I am on 3 PAYG. The 3-2-1 tariff is brilliant but missing out on these upgrade deals is a real disadvantage.

I am not saying they have to, but it would be useful.

They might have info that will help people looking at the deal. For example, if people are voting it cold because it is known to be unreliable then that info would help buyers and I will add any honest info to the description.

What do you want this phone to do? Render 4K video?

Just as a touchscreen MP3 player it is worth the money alone. It is a low end phone aimed at the light user/child/old dear who has never used a smart phone before.

Windows phones are nice by the way but the lack of apps compared to android absolutely cripples them.

That is an extraordinary price. Especially when you consider that, last week, I sold my 14 month old Nokia Lumia 520 for £55 on ebay. I used the proceeds to get a moto e.

Clearly ebay users aren't necessarily as price savvy as people on here.

I reckon you could get this phone for £29.95 and flog on it ebay as BNIB for £50.

Did I say that? Android on 512MB RAM is not a nice experience. It's slow, multitasking is extremely limited (having an email client polling + music + browsing) is a painful experience.

Well then, should we stop posting any deal that involves a phone with less than 1GB ram? Why not go the whole hog and only post top end phones?

You are another one of these people who doesn't get what this site is about.

Deals are hot or cold based on their value, not how good the item is.

Surely a "deal" has to be part price and "value", otherwise you could sell a piece of crap for £0.10p and just because it's the cheapest crap on the internet, you wouldn't vote it hot would you.

But surely you agree that voting cold on a 30 quid phone because it has a low amount of ram is about as moronic as it gets.

All sorts of people use this site. For every well off person here seeking a high end phone for gaming, there will be a parent on a very limited budget trying to get their kid a phone for Christmas.

You are just as bad as the people who vote down items because they aren't apple.

512mb isn't enough for anything these days unfortunately, apps getting updated regularly requiring more juice to make them work effectively
