The people who are voting cold are probably the same people who would only buy a phone if it cost £4.99 with £5 free credit!

Mark, You should phone O2 Up and ask to go through to retentions, then quote this offer at Mobiles.co.uk. They should better it as they want to keep customers. Also mention broadband as you know all O2 Customers can now get half price broadband as a O2 user.

Me. Well, I ant the HTC Touch HD, and Orange currently have exclusivity till the new year, so I am patiently waiting on

That code doesn't work!

Try Code: HOTUK and you'll get a free Jabra Bluetooth 2010 Drive Pack!

why did they have to put a windows OS in the X1. WHY!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!! NO!

Don't do it!

Avoid mobiles.co.uk like the plague!

I've spent the past week trying to return a dodgy phone to these cowboys! They sent me a locked phone and sim on a different network.

You can't get through to any departments, they don't respond to emails (they have direct line contact numbers at the end of their emails but when you ring them they say "this is a residential address", despite the ofice noises in the background.)

They ignore emails, and if you miss them calling they tell you to ring them up (hello, hence the email?!)

You have 7 days when you can return your order unused, but they don't respond to emails, you can't get through, while the supplier bills you for the month and you've entered a contract...

If you're in any doubt (don't be fooled by the Carphone Warehouse link - they are run independently but use the same systems) just try giving them a ring...any number - custmer services, returns, any number you like.

Sorry op - but after 10 days of trying to get through to these I'd hate to see you go through what I've been through.

Update - Finally got a returns address today...after I got T-mobile (they couldn't get through either) and the Carphone Warehouse to follow up my complaint. Lucky escape for me.....

(Rant over)

It's possible to get the HTC Touch HD on O2 also, have a look here:

Joss - maybe I've been lucky so far.

I've phoned them & got through (after waiting for it to stop being engaged - 2 or 3 attempts) to a UK sales bod.

After the order was completed online - I sent them an email saying I forgot to add the headset (from the offer code above) - they responded within 20 minutes as said they'd add it.

I guess it's pot luck with the service.

I've got an X1 and it's an absolutely amazing phone.

I negged this offer as Phones4 U do this phone for £35 a month on a 24 month contract (but you can change tariff for free after 12 months) with 600 anytime/anycaller minutes with UNLIMITED texts AND UNLIMITED Data.

Only under Vodaphone though

Handsets free

Hope it goes well for you BlkKnight.

Even the nice Joanne at CW struggled to get through to them and they operate under the same umbrella, she said she got cut off several times before she managed it.

The only time I got through to them was when I rang sales...even that was after a good wait. Makes sense they'd have more staff on that line than say returns (only Daniel). Pity I got transferred to abyss that is returns....

Woe betide anyone taking a cashback deal, or if the phone develops problems.

Linky here - so it's not just me:

I got this phone via o2 retentions, hoepfully it will be delivered tomorrow.

I got the handset free, and I pay £24.50 a month, for 600 mins, 1000 texts, and data bolt on.

Works out @ £441 over £18 months.

Good deal?

Hey thanks for all the info think i'll give the o2 retentions line a go before i go with this deal, do you just ask to be put through to retentions? even if i'm on the simplicity deal? sorry but never had to do this before an really want this phone at the best possible deal...

Thanks Again

I think you won't get the same sort of offer from retentions unless you've spent quite a bit of money and have held your current contract for some time. Still, it's worth a stab and if you get the right person and do a bit of sweet talking, the world is yours... :p

I was on a 12 months @ £25 tarriff before, so I was really suprised that they gave me a good deal, especially as I havnt used the sim that much.

It was either the x1 or the serra, simular specs, but they said the serra (htc touch diamond pro) hadnt been launched yet, even though it shows as in stock on their site?
#18
oic. i'm still on an 18th month contract. paying £30/ month. stil have 3 months left. I was going to get the serra, then the x1. But the gadget show had a bad review on the x1 so i think i'll get the serra now =p
banned#19
This the one against the Iphone & andriod?

Hardly a review - they just said it's not intuitive (difficult) to use.
#20
o2 retentions now seem to have a policy where they will give you 40% of your line rental
#21
I didn't watch the gadget show..i got told about it..
#22
Been looking through reviews on the net, and several videos, the xperia looks fantastic. Cant wait now.

Good afternoon,

Just wondered if someone could confirm that an "Unlimted Text" deal can be swapped for "Unlimited Landline Calls"?? On O2's website all bolt-ons appear to be interchangable, but with these third party suppliers they're doing deals with cashback and free gifts etc....

I want the Free Landline calls option, not so worried about the number of texts, minutes.

I'm suspicious as I've previously asked a 3 salesperson about the 1100 minutes + free landline calls deal, and was specifically told that the landline calls were only given when signing up through their direct sales.

If you contact o2 directly they will confirm that once you have your phone & contract agreement, they are able to swap the bolt-on over to which one you prefer.

Im with e2save (o2) & 4 months past my contract, can I contact o2 redemptions or do I have to still deal with e2save as they do my billing. Any comments will be appreciated. thx

seems like you have no other choise rather than switch to original o2 as e2save is totally different thing.

@Bryan839: sorry mate I can't believe they give you such a deal like this. Maybe it's a special case where they owe you something because normally retention team can't go lower than 40% discount on line rental and handset price is non negotiable. In some case you might be able to spread the handset cost

£45 x 18 x 0.6 + £49.99 = £535.99 for 1200 mins a month
£35 x 18 x 0.6 + £99.99 = £477.99 for 600 mins a month
.....

you might be able to get something extra but in very rare case, again, when they owe you something like an apology.

I went for 1200 mins a month and got the phone yesterday. First WM phone, not so impressed but need time to get used to. Can say it's the little, but much more powerful, brother of my beloved p1i.

Its ok, I dont need you to believe me. I dont think it was a special case, just gave my 30 days cancellation notice, because they didnt have the xperia at the time, called me back around 2 weeks later and gave me that deal.

No offense mate "I don't believe" means "it's an amazing deal" alrite?

Beside, the fact that they was unable to deliver the phone on time is the reason why they gave you such a good deal.

Cool, yea most likely gave me the deal because they were so slow stocking the handset.

o2 retentions woul;dn`t do anything at all on the n96,
#31
what i got offered from o2 was...

18 months. 150 quid back, No phone, 45 quid tariff with unlimited internet, 1000 text, 1000 min down to 27. so 27 x 18 = 486

486 - 150 = 336

336 / 18 months = 18.66.....

then.. just buy any phone!

ching!

havnt taken the offer yet! waiting to find a good phone, or waiting till i can get the iphone cheaper than 350 offline....
#32
great deal. i kept looking at the stupidass orange deals which are a rip-off. never thought i'd go for an 18 month contract, but it works out very well with the unlimited data.
