Not true. Warranty is European. We are in Europe.

Great phone if you want a giant screen that can also take calls and texts. Great for games and multimedia, battery life half-decent, camera absolutely terrible, loudspeaker utter rubbish - which is a shame for such a multimedia-centric device.

Good buy, not for me but if this device is your sort of thing and you don't mind the downsides mentioned then you can't go wrong. Will also get Lollipop...eventually.

It a lot of phone for the money in more ways than one!

Such a shame this never did better - I have one as my third phone and use it like a small tablet so mostly web-browsing, video and apps/games. In terms of hardware it decimates the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 (in just about everything) but seems to command a lower price both new and second-hand, never quite understood the market like that...

True that we are in Europe.
You do get warranty for Sony but their UK service is rubbish.
I bought one September 2013 when it was first released.
After one month it developed a defect in the screen and my unit was exchanged after Sony UK service examined my unit for a month.
Not only it took a month to get the replacement under warranty it was a refurbished unit.
After that I had the unit enhanced another 2 times (faulty speaker and faulty sim tray) that left me without a phone for a total of 3 months.

Apart from that excellent handset and having owned a Samsung Note and HTC Max I have found that Sony had the best battery life out of the bunch.

Only downsides terrible camera and the screen although scratch resistant it's not gorilla glass.

At this price (1/3 of what I paid) is an excellent buy.

Just make sure you test and benchmark the phone thoroughly within the first 2 weeks so in case of a faulty device you deal with the seller and not Sony.

No Flash puts me off. I use the flash on my phone as a light quite regularly.

I currently have a galaxy note 2 lte and fancy a change, how does this sony stack up against the note 2?
Can this be paired up with a PS4?
#13
Very fast. Amazing for games, movies and browsing. battery life decent but takes time to charge. Camera is absolutly rubbish.
I bought it 4 months ago for £215 so this dosent sound like hot deal but still in my eyes good price for this phablet.

Better than the note 2?
what sort of life are you getting from the battery?

it's the worlds best small tablet.

I get a solid day from mine with about two hours screen on time, time spent streaming music/podcasts, web browsing etc.

holding it at a comfortable distance watching netflix is like watching a large screen tv across the room.

Sometimes I even make phone calls and send/receive text messages with it.

Bah! I bought this a few weeks ago for 235 quid. Has anyone ever asked Expansys to refund the difference? I know amazon do it...

The phone's not bad really - a bit of a powerhouse with a lovely screen. The camera has no flash but I've taken some beautiful pictures with mine in daylight - really vibrant and crisp, with loads of depth. Such a shame about the flash. It'd be great if there was some way to hack a flash onto it. The speakers are a bit quiet at first but there's a setting deep in the menu that makes it louder. Plus you can get volume-boosting apps in the Play Store.

Sadly not compatible with PS4 remote play otherwise i may have jumped aboard.

for just over 200 nothing compares if you like a large screen device the battery is not as good as note 3.but performance is as good and the phone its self is waterproof and far better built.it will get lollypop before note 3

this phone is 1000 times better than note2 but depends which features you using. actually I also switch from my note2 3g phone to this sony 4G phone. As already facing difficulty with screen or can say faulty on and off swtich.
this is coz sometimes this phone a bit tight in my pocket. which keeps on and off swtich damage and phone keep restarting itself for no reason. the solution for this is I have to keep phone off for couple of minutes and restart again. hopefully upto now its working fine. rest its not a phone its PHABLET.... looks pretty cool in hands. this phone attracts everyone while using... though lots of people cant resist to ask me regarding PHABLET....

I'm replying on my Z Ultra which I'm very fond of - and almost didn't buy after the reviews said the camera was rubbish.

The camera is actually OK and produces good results in decent light conditions. I do miss the lack of LED flash, however, but not for photography. You forget how much you use your phone as a torch in a pinch!

How are sony with their updates now when I had arc s and experia s they were really bad.only asking just in case I buy one in future but happy with lumia 1020 at the moment

They've been pretty good with updates on their current phones, they were fairly responsive in getting it up to Kitkat and they've announced Lollipop. They don't run their own skin now either as the interface is mainly stock with a few improvements.

I had the Z Ultra for a year and loved it, the screen is superb, it's weather sealed, fast and has micro SD expansion but the killer was the camera, it lacks an LED flash which is remarkably handy as a torch and the camera is very poor, quite a bit behind even the much older Galaxy S2 camera. While I have plenty of dedicated cameras, I realised how handy I found the camera on the phone so ended up changing phone.

Still a really hot deal though as it's a superb piece of hardware that's far cheaper than it's worth.

Thanks, tranceazure. Already bought it. Arrived very next day. Superb phone, lots of improvements compared to z1 - brilliant 20.7 Mpx camera and perfect size for me.
Even tried to post the deal in here but it was removed for some reason. If someone can, please feel free to post it.
