do not buy Sony phones when they break you get appalling service from both Sony and sbe uk my z1 bent by itself so they said it was physical damage wouldn't give me an engineers report said if I get it independently checked they won't acknowledge it as they ain't authorised so I paid the money to have it repaired then they sent me a phone with a speaker grill hanging out and back cover not sealed. the paperwork said it was QC checked before sending out made a complaint to Sony who eventually rang back saying I have to send it back they will repair it. I convinced them their engineers are crap and they agreed for a replacement as soon as I sent it back its been 4 days no communication and I have been without the phone for over 3 weeks.

How is it compare to Sony Xperia ZL C6503 4G 4.4.2 Kitkat Quad Core,13MP,5”Full HD and Bravia Engine? available on ebay for £339.

fyi had this phone for a few months, including splashing in the water multiple times. The waterproof factor alone makes it worth it alone.
Active audio cancelling headphones are also amazing. Highly recommended.

I agree with Ruzz2k I sent phone for repairs and it was serviced by SBE ltd, sent me phone back saying it was fixed but engineer forgot to glue the back to the device, and left mark in camera, went back again I was without a phone for a month. That being said I like this phone, and just got rid of my oneplus one because I still like this phone. Oh and the last repair they replaced motherboard with old one, but could not be bothered to chase them for this. Paid £450 for mine.

Sadly, I had the same experience of SBE Ltd with LG. I don't know why these manufacturers use such an appalling company other than to save on costs; but then you lose customers. I admire Apple, at least they're willing to take on the responsibility even if they charge extra for their goods. If only they weren't such control freaks...

I can not decide between this and "Sony Xperia ZL C6503 4G 4.4.2 Kitkat Quad Core,13MP,5”Full HD and Bravia Engine" available on ebay for £339. £70 cheaper, any suggestion?
#13
The ZL is a far insuperior to this. Easily worth £70 more.
#14
I mean the Z2 is far superior to the ZL.
#15
I love my Z2. Just hope it never breaks.

It's very easy to decide, as the above chap has said, it is an inferior phone by quite a large margin.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5203&idPhone2=6144

Old chipset, smaller battery, inferior camera, inferior display (Z2 has IPS) etc
#17
hope its better than the Z1(using it to write this comment). My Z1 crashes more times than George Michael

With these "Crashes" it is usually down to installed apps or a dirty upgrade, a factory reset should sort them out, just make sure you back up your data.

I'll be honest with you, I am a huge android fan but their upgrades do tend to break an awful lot of stuff. For example, since Kit Kat I've had reboots when using skype video call and random reboots when taking photos; this is on a Nexus 4. Yes, I could flash to a custom ROM but right now I just want to keep it simple.

You shouldn't have to flash a custom rom just for the phone to work as is, the only issue I experience with mine(nexus4,5) was always apps not updating to use latest release of OS api, this usually causes most FC. I'm not saying this is your issue, but it was mine.

But you are right android OS usually suffers because it is a pain to QA for many devices by developers, far easier on the iOS side of things.

I think Sony are ready to release a newer model to replace the Z2 but it's probably wise to hold off purchasing this as they're due for an announcement in September.

It's a rumour but sounds credible as they are aiming for a flagship every 6 months.

Never assume when conversing online. It's very difficult to get the tone from a single line.

Also never post the same boring "phone X due out in Y months so I would wait"

Ok, let's analyse this objectively.
1) Most manufacturers do 1 flagship per year.
2) Sony has changed to 2 per year spaced equally
3) Sept is the launch month for the next Xperia which is a few weeks away.
4) When a new flagship is launched, the old one is discounted.

Given those pointers, I'd say there were good grounds to wait before forking out on the Z2 as there could be substantial savings. You may disagree but you don't have be a douchebag over it. My intentions were for the good of fellow posters, and yours?

Thanks for posting, have bought.

Z3 is out soon but obviously will cost more. Price impact on lower models will take a while I think. Plus the Z3 is looking to be only minor upgrades to the CPU and design (hence 6 month cycle). The speaker is quite a bonus as well as it has very positive reviews!

Note that this price is only the white, which is out of stock. Website expects it in 4 days. Also note that to process the order you have to call up and they do a credit check on you (bit strange for sim only). I'm a recent graduate so I have no credit record to speak of. I have had to scan and send my passport and utility bill.

Xperia Z2 is fail able on Amazon fulfilled by Tech-Cessory shop for a price of £349.99 + £1.95 shipping. Much better than this deal.

You know this deal was posted a month ago... right?
I'm also dubious of that shop, is it a HK importer?

Just noticed typo on my previous post....fail able* --> available

I did not find any concerning issue about the tech Cessory shop. The reviews were generally good. I have purchased one for my wife and expecting to receive it by end if next week.
