O2 refresh deal

I'm in the market for a new phone that will actually fit in my hand and I've been impressed with the stats of this phone and it's small size. There have only been a few deals posted on this particular model so I'm not expecting it to go hot. It's more to notify anyone else who might be thinking of a similar deal.

The phone is currently on O2 refresh with no up front cost and a monthly payment of £24. Once the phone arrives, you can cancel and pay 24 months worth of payments for the handset at £10 per month - therefore, £240 total payment.

Not a bad price considering a recent deal for £279 with GiffGaff reached 296 degrees.

Never used O2 refresh but this is copied from the live chat "For £24 you'll get 500 minutes + unlimited text + 500MB data + unlimited O2 wifi and phone without upfront cost on o2 refresh tariff £14 for airtime and £10 for phone plan Z5 compact."

On the site it says £12 for the phone and £12 for the airtime :/

I'll go back on live chat to double check as I'm on the verge of taking this deal and want to make sure it's legit.

£288 is still good - but the Z3 compact like new works out £5 p/m £120 all in

I've just spoken to live chat and now they are saying it was a mistake and the handset should be £12 per month on Refresh. I'll expire the deal.

Good handset, got one to replace my z1c. I pay £21/m for ultd/ultd/3Gb.

Can you link me the same deal?

I believe there's so little difference between performance of the Z5 and Z3 compact -- don't know if that's still the case? My Z3 Compact received a new update today for battery saving and charging features.

I've tried to expire this deal but it's still live! I've emailed O2 complaints for their incompetence...sorry to waste anyone's time

Don't get it, the phone is slow, I've had it since launch and while generally its fine, any processor intensive apps it will overheat and slow down, when the weather is hot and the phone is warm it, you might not even be able to take pictures def no video.

Basically overheating issues. I think on the original firmware it was great but i reckon the updates they pushed out are are generic and not refined for the processor/phone. Sony seemingly may be winding down their phone business they no longer allow automatic upload of photos to playmemories.

Sure there are other options dropbox/one drive but still Sony seems to be winding down.

Sony have always been fast at android updates I have this phone and like it it seems fast to me a lot smoother than my lg g3 anyhow and the camera is really good as is the battery life I can't think of any downsides to it really at all.these new phones all seem fragile and costly and harder to protect with fancy shaped screens
#14
had the z3c and now on the z5c and experienced no issues on the z5c with overheating
#15
I just really want a small powerful phone without the rip off price tag. I'm tempted at £288 but I reckon it'll drop again pretty soon.

Well, the today's power and battery update for the Z3 is pretty awesome... 90% battery since this morning with a fair amount of usage.

I don't use the Sony app for cloud storage but I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's a sign they are winding down their phone business lol. X)

I'm hoping they bring out a z7 compact and Sony if you listening here's my list of specs and il buy it ok.make screen 4.8 full HD.make battery 3000.improve stereo speakers so they bit louder sound better.give it latest snapdragon and 4gb ram only to future proof it for two years at least not that I think it's needed now.make it waterproof and shockproof and drop the Sony bloat make it so we can download it if needed.i don't mind it been thick but if possible keep the same rectangle size as z5 compact and il give you 400 quid.i totally believe Sony phones are underrated and it's a shame very few people buy them but least it keeps prices down while they last as Sony make no profit from mobiles so least they determined

I've only used flagship phones for the past 10 years, and the best has been my Sony Z2, I'm into year 3 and I have never kept a phone past its 2nd year of contract.

Game in Grimsby have a z5c locked to ee for £200. Condition seemed good.

Must be the Z5c processor then snapdragon 810 I think, I wish Sony were not winding down but after looking at the X series appears to be a step back away from what makes Sony stand apart! I don't want to move to Samsung. Theres no alternative to the Z5c in terms of phone size to feature set, what else are people comparing this to?

Theres no alternative to the Z5c in terms of phone size to feature set,

It's called the Z3 ;) It's getting updated all the time, so absolutely no sign of Sony moving away from their phones from where I'm standing and it's a great phone too... Samsung also make great phones so I don't see the issue using one? I bet your TV is Samsung and not Sony, because that's where Sony definitely fails and Samsung excels. :D
