I have the z3 and z4 tablets, best tablets available right now imo. In need of new 7" tablet releases now though as this one is getting a little old.

Is this available in white?

Better and cheaper to get Nvidia K1 tablet, if you can find stock for RRP.

Great tab, but is there any news on the long term support? Since Sony decided to discontinue the Z series (imho best Android tablet available at the moment), will they also stop updates at some point? And what is the future for Android tablets? And does it have 4G?

sony are still updating at its just had a update

Officially supports remote play with ps4 too. Although that can also be done with the modded apk on the Nvidia Shield, which I think is the best tablet you can get for £150 (due to unpredictable support from Sony). Heat added for price, hardware & brand :)

pity the Z3TC with LTE/4G/3G radio is still expensive. and yes, you can use that as a monster-sized phone.

the z3 recently got a big update but to be fair they took their time with it.
I had the Nexus 7 before the z3, I loved the Nexus 7 but the z3 is so much better in many ways. grab yourself a cheap magnetic charging dock too. I got the official sony case free with mine which is top quality but a bit expensive to buy I think.

I was going to get this till I had a nVidia Shield tablet in hand for a bit that thing is a monster for the price.

It's cheaper to get a K1 but it's not better.

Used both and the Z3 is just clearly better for most applications. Gaming is the only one where the K1 beats it but even then, it's not a huge difference.

Not to mention it's a lot lighter, thinner and waterproof. Battery life is probably the best I've ever seen on a tablet too.

As a phone but only on loudspeaker, not Trigger Happy TV style.

Great tablet, I got one in John Lewis cheap (a return) about a year or more ago.

I do have an ipad air, but hardly use it since I got this. Great size, and light, front facing speakers, battery almost as good as the ipad, on Marshmallow, ps4 'compatibile', takes Sd cards, etc.

However I hav noticed recently that I think it is starting to occasionally 'slow' when browsing etc. I do use Cleanmaster to wipe the cache, etc, but does still drag a little sometimes. This is rare, but noticeable to me.

I would still recommend it though, and this is a good price for a new one.

I got this on launch and it's excellent. it just world's. it's well built and I prefer it over most other tablets including ipads.
I like screen cast being built in

Using mine right now, great tablet :) picked mine up preowned in Game about a year ago, nearly new but without box, and it turned out to be the 4G version. Score!

sony make great tabs. The Z series are brill.....I have the z tab and suits my needs so well! shame it's not being updated....got mine brand new from argos ebay last year for a superb price (£186). I do like the z3, but prefer the bigger screen of my z tab.....if the z2 or z4 ever drop in price to something like this deal then I would be all over them. Thanks for posting and heated up :)

All opinions I guess but tbh they're only the best when it comes to android tabs.

iPad Pro models have them best all day but they're at least double the price!

I am not sure how frequently sony updates software, it is not same as LG or Samsung. I have Z3 dual they have rolled out Android 6 in every part of the world except Europe. Also, terrible customer service by Sony.

I hope tablets should not suffer the same fate. though, you can get root it.

Also, it has 16gb storage and I believe sony doesn't allow adoptable storage (for installing apps on card).
make sure the space is enough for you.

Great tablet but I wouldn't want to pay £200 for one now. It's not far off 2 years old.

I was thinking the same.

Certainly not knocking it but surely there are better alternatives at the same price?

one of the best android tablets out there, despite its age.
beyond Samsung and and amazon tablets (which I don't like), not really much choice in high end android tablets. defo recommend this. Sony's version of Android is pretty much stock android too!

I'm paying £20 a month on a 24 month contract as loan agreement. I got a Sony Z3 tablet and a Z3 phone.

Price drop because of new nexus 7 on the horizon? Think I'll save my money and wait for that.
