Needed a hifi/boombox and this seems to have got very good reviews. Argos had it on £119.99 before, then dropped it to £99 and now it's been further reduced to £89.99. This is the cheapest I could find for a well-known retailer.

You can also purchase a refurbished version of this on ebay for £79.99 inc free p&p.

It's got what most people would need, which is a cd player, fm/dab, bluetooth and usb port and is supposed to be pretty loud.

That's not a boombox. This is a boombox!!!

Unfortunately very little stock unless you are in Cumbria, but it's way way better for another £10 quid.
but i'm getting the ZS-RS70 for it's DAB radio...does the one you show have it? or at the very least, can i use the Bluetooth feature and connect it to my android phone and stream dab radio to the sony?

No. No idea why but it's FM radio, although I play XFM on it bluetooth via my phone app.

Seriously no comparision with the sound though although I have to say it's quite a bit bigger then the Sony ZS BTY52 I had before which I think is similar to your speaker.
So can I stream radio using an android device and bluetooth?
Yes, that's what I do.

Connect via bluetooth and play the radio using my phone on wifi. You need a good signal or you can the odd buffering issue.

Or you can bluetooth it from a PC or laptop and play via internet.

Thanks focaltucker...I don't think I'll have any signal issues as I'll be playing it off wifi in the same room as the boombox. I've managed to reserve one and will pick it up tomorrow. How does this NFC feature work?
I am not sure. I only picked mine up yesterday and had quick mess with it via my Xperia phone. The sound is great though. Lots of bass on the Rock setting!

It will have the room bouncing! Seems great value with led's to boot!
Most definately agree. My missus wants a mini hifi with cd player and fm radio, but i want an audio system which has wifi, dab, usb stick options etc as cd & fm is out of date nowadays. Lets hope I can persuade her.

NFC allows you to pair via Bluetooth by touching the back of your phone (if it has NFC) against the NFC area of the speaker, much like using an oyster card on the Tube or contactless debit/credit payment. It saves the faff of pairing using a PIN/code etc.
Thanks for explaining that ricardo. I'll let you guys know how I get on when I get it tomorrow

Hi guys, I want to thank you very much focaltucker for recommending the GTK-N1BT. Luckily I managed to grab one locally and your right! It's an absolute beauty and works perfectly with dab radio sent via NFC or Bluetooth.
Excellent. Glad you like it.

I think it's a great addition to any home!!
I'm shocked that it's been classed as cold for many people on here though:-
Some people just vote cold for the sake of it.

I don't think there's anything even close to it for around £100 quid. The bigger version is more than double that price £249 although can be had for £199, but hardly something to compare to a unit half the price is it?
I agree. It's extremely loud and does what I require, so I couldn't care what others say. :p
