If you have a home bargains near you they sell boxes of uncooked prawn crackers for 29p. One box makes about 4-5 times the amount you get from the takeaways. It takes minutes to make a big bowl full and costs next to nothing :) You haven't got to use them up in one go either, so just put them in an airtight container and leave them til' the next time!

Mmmmmm, 100% monosodium glutamate...

You can't beat it.

I'd say these taste even better than take away, because they are freshly cooked. Take away can be sitting for a while.

Make sure your oil is very hot and they cook in seconds.

just watched the you tube video and he says to make sure the oil isn't too hot.

My deep fat fryer couldn't get hot enough to make them expand, had to cook them on the hob, so i'd stick fairly/very hot as a recommendation.

I hope you are not being rude,or do you mean his waistline?..........look at the level of the oil in the fryer when you have finished cooking a box of these prawn crackers.........where has all that oil gone?....................not up in steam.............

I prefer to make them myself:

1 lb shelled and minced prawns (or any fish etc)
1lb Tapioca flour (often available in Asian grocers)
1 oz salt
1 tsp ground white pepper
1 cup water.
