Oh and bear in mind that there is no XXL broadband right now. Could this XXL be the famed 50mbps?
#2
Would be up for this but they still sayy we can't get telly!

Sounds a very good deal. I wonder if existing customers can make use of this. Doubt it very much. Heat give nevertheless.

I like how 'postcode' is spelt wrong on that page ;-)

Is it me or are they standard Virgin prices anyway ?
#6
£50 a month?? Some people have more money than sense!

I may be missing something here. No mention of a laptop, no mention of 'XXL' broadband..can you post a link to the offer you mention?..
#8
Oh I see..just noticed the link to the news story

I think the XXL will be a typo. That's meant to be £50 a month on its own and its going to take them until next year to fully roll it out. It will likely be the XL 20Mb broadband, still a good offer though with a laptop. We pay £56 a month for the same package with no laptop.

could you tell me what you get for £56 a month ..i,m currently on a vip package and paying £85 a month ..just wanted something to quote when i ring up.

As for 50mb broadband, have a read here, it's close but nothing is confirmed.

Yes we can. We can get anything that's going. All you do is phone up, ask for it, when they say no, say you're going to leave. Complain that they never show any loyalty to existing customers, that you have been a customer for so many years and never get a deal, only get price increases etc. Then they'll give you it to shut you up. I've done it about ten times for different things. We should be the FIRST to benefit from any deals, given customer loyalty!

The problem with Virgin Media is that you never get the promised unlimited speed you have purchased. They throttle your speed to less than half in some cases, depending how much you download. This is not what I call an unlimited service. It's a limited service and Richard Branson should not be allowed to advertise this as a full unlimited service. My leaning is towards O2 who is the only company providing a truly unlimted full speed service at the moment (and it's cheaper than Virgin). BTW, I am presently a Virgin Media Customer.

I'm not voting either way as there is the doubt over the xxl BB and no spec on the laptop yet.

50mb is being trialled at the moment.

As for the deal, its roughly what it would cost a new customer but with a free laptop

All I can say is that the cheaper O2 broadband I had previously was WAY faster than my current, more expensive, Virgin Broadband.

Also, does anyone know if it would be possible to quit virgin and rejoin in order to take advantage of this deal?

We get XL Broadband, XL TV and XL Phone (Talk Unlimited). Its on this page: http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=15163

When you phone up it will either been known as Triple XL or Ultimate Triple. For some reason its known by different names by different people.

Yes, lots of people paid over the odds for broadband seven years ago and Virgin made a tonne of money. That's what.
